PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers can play Hogwarts Legacy for 45 minutes. This duration is probably enough to play through the intro of Hogwarts Legacy, but some gamers may not be able to reach Hogwarts Castle in this time frame. Players should note the timer starts upon launching Hogwarts Legacy, and they will need to close the app from the PS5 home menu to stop the countdown.

The trial for Hogwarts Legacy seems way too short, as players will probably not get access to the open world in this period. It can give gamers a taste of the gameplay, but fans will not be able to engage in a lot of its systems and mechanics in such a short duration. Many PS Plus Premium trials offer two to three hours of gameplay, so it’s strange that Hogwarts Legacy will only be playable for such a short period. Regardless, this trial will give gamers who are on the fence a hands-on experience with Hogwarts Legacy.

Hogwarts Legacy received positive reviews upon its launch in February 2023, with its PS5 version currently holding a score of 84 on Metacritic. While some new releases have received a higher score on Metacritic, Hogwarts Legacy is expected to be nominated for a bunch of different awards at the end of the year.

Hogwarts Legacy has also been a massive commercial success, as it has sold over 15 million copies and generated over $1 billion in revenue since its release. It’ll be interesting to see if the sales of Hogwarts Legacy on PS5 increase as a result of this trial, as some users may decide to purchase the game after the period ends.

Hogwarts Legacy is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, with a Nintendo Switch port launching on November 14.
