Sony will soon be making a host of classic PlayStation 1 games available to play on PS4 and PS5 consoles, primarily through its PlayStation Plus revamp. While some of the games will be available for individual purchase, they will all be available to PlayStation Plus subscribers that decide to upgrade to the new PS Plus Premium tier when it launches on June 13. Better yet, these classic games will come with some new bells and whistles that weren't available in their original release.

Some of these new features have been discussed before. For example, some classic PS1 games will have save states and rewind features. And now it's been confirmed that some of these retro games will have trophy support as well. So far only one of the classic PS1 games coming to PS Plus Premium has been confirmed to have trophy support, but it could be a sign that more of them will incorporate trophies.

Bend Studio has confirmed that PS1 classic Syphon Filter will have trophy support when it debuts on PS Plus Premium. Not only that, but there will even be a Platinum trophy for fans to unlock. This should make the prospect of revisiting these classic games more appealing than it was before, especially for trophy hunters.

So far, Bend Studio has confirmed two of the Syphon Filter trophies that PS Plus Premium subscribers will be able to unlock once the service goes live. The first is called "An Explosive Start" and it's a Silver trophy. The second Syphon Filter trophy Bend Studio revealed is "Excellent work, Agent!" and it's the Platinum. It's unclear how many trophies will be in the game, and it's possible fans will have to wait for PS Plus Premium to go live before they'll know for sure.

It will be interesting to see how many classic PS1 games have trophy support when the new PS Plus tiers launch, and if that support will extend to other retro games like. Besides PS1 games, PSP and PS2 games will also be playable through PS Plus Premium. There are some remastered PS2 games with trophy support that are part of the package, but it hasn't been said if regular PS2 games will have trophies or not.

The new PS Plus subscription tiers will launch in the US on June 13, and at that point, fans should have answers to all their questions. It's also possible Sony will share more information in the meantime, so fans should keep an eye out.
