PS Plus is introducing PS1 games with integrated trophy support to the PC version of PS Plus. PlayStation games have been trickling into the PC space for a while now. By extension, it made perfect sense for PS Plus to extend its services to PC as well. These days, PS Plus has many titles available for streaming and plenty of features for PC gamers. Players are even able to use voice chat functions and PlayStation controllers for a full console experience on PC.

Sony has taken major steps in creating a space for itself in the PC gaming market and seems to be in it for the long run. PlayStation games hitting the PC market have been a success, as they continue to release unhindered. Major titles such as God of War, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and Marvel’s Spider-Man have hit Steam, with other titles coming soon. Titles that are available to stream through the PS Plus service on PC even include those that have multiplayer capability.

To expand PS Plus’s features even further, Sony seems to have added some PS1 titles to the PC service for Premium members. Titles such as Resident Evil Director's Cut, Tekken 2, and Ape Escape are available for PC players to stream. The best part of these releases is their inclusion of trophy support for these classic games; any player interested in trophy hunting now has a plethora of titles to complete. While these titles aren't the entirety of what’s available for PS Plus Premium members on console, other kinds of titles are also available. PSP games like LocoRoco Midnight Carnival and Echoshift are joining the ever-growing roster as well, albeit with no trophy support at release.

The introduction of PS1 and PSP games to the PC platform demonstrates how invested Sony has become in the PC platform. The inclusion of trophies show that the company is taking the release of these classics seriously, at least where PS1 games are concerned. Coupled with the re-release of popular PS4 titles, it definitely seems like the presence of PlayStation is only going to continue to grow. Gamers who have sworn to never buy a console can now rest easy knowing that they have a good chance of playing a PlayStation title someday on PC.

Titles like Resident Evil may not be as exciting as an updated version of Bloodborne, but they definitely encourage more of a look at PS Plus. The tier system that has been introduced to the service may put off more casual players, but the extra options will entice some. Both Xbox Game Pass and PS Plus are now going head-to-head going forward, and both have great prospects on PC. Regardless of whichever has the better deal, gamers only get more options for PC gaming in the long run.
