A new logo showing the PlayStation Plus icon along with the words Day 1 Release has been spotted on an up-and-coming game for both the PS4 and PS5. The PlayStation Plus subscription was revamped to a tiered system earlier in 2022, but the service still offers monthly titles at no extra cost for all subscribers.

The PlayStation Plus December 2022 line-up was recently announced with the Mass Effect Legendary Edition leading the charge. The sprawling RPG from Bioware certainly grabbed the attention of PS Plus fans as it includes all three of the main games in one package, effectively giving players five games instead of the usual three. As a result of this announcement, the other two games, Biomutant and DKO: Devine Knockout understandably garnered less attention.

However, kabirsingh84 over on Reddit noticed that Sony has included a new "Day 1" logo on the image of DKO: Devine Knockout. The game is set to release across PC and Xbox consoles as a paid title on December 6, the same date the PS Plus line-up goes live. This will undoubtedly give Sony an advantage as they are offering Devine Knockout at no extra cost. Of course, players do have to be subscribed to PS Plus and add the game to their library before the offer period expires.

Sony has repeatedly confirmed that the PlayStation Plus offering will not have many day-one releases, however, the number of titles being offered by the Japanese giant seems to be growing. Indie games such as Bugsnax, Oddworld Soulstorm, and the hugely popular cat adventure Stray have all found huge followings since being released as part of the PS Plus service.

It must be noted that the day-one appearance of Divine Knockout on PS Plus is not a sign that Sony is changing its approach to its subscription service. The games offered do not come from first-party studios, so players shouldn’t expect Marvel's Spider-Man 2 in their Plus subscription when it releases. Although, having DKO: Devine Knockout as one of the monthly games would suggest that Sony is being more aggressive with having more included games.

Devine Knockout itself is a cartoon brawler in a similar vein as Multiversus, with gods from across multiple mythologies replacing the Warner Discovery stable of characters. These deities will duke it out for total world dominance, although, unlike Warner Bros’ struggling free-to-play Multiversus, the action will be set in three dimensions instead of the traditional 2D, left-to-right platform.

DKO: Devine Knockout releases as part of the PlayStation Plus line-up, and across PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on December 6.
