Like clockwork, Sony has confirmed the PS Plus free games for September 2022 on August 31, with these titles set to replace the current selection of games on September 6. This means anyone who has been delaying the August games should act quickly, knowing that the PS Plus free games for August 2022 include Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 Cross-Gen Deluxe Bundle, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and Little Nightmares.

The PS Plus free games for September 2022 (also known as the Essential tier) will be available to all subscribers from September 6 to October 4, with this selection including the following titles: Need for Speed Heat (PS4), Toem (PS5), and Granblue Fantasy: Versus (PS4)

Need for Speed Heat is an interesting inclusion. NFS Heat is, as of now, the last title in the franchise, and all in all, it's a pretty solid racing game. What's interesting, though, is rumors and leaks swirl around the next NFS game that's expected to be revealed soon. If a proper new game reveal for the next NFS does indeed come soon, that'll likely boost the PS Plus downloads, and this wouldn't be the first time EA has used a service like PS Plus to build hype around an upcoming game (It did so with Battlefield 5 and Battlefield 2042 in the summer of 2021).

PS Plus Free Games for September 2022 List

  • Need for Speed Heat (PS4)
  • Toem (PS5)
  • Granblue Fantasy: Versus (PS4)

Toem, meanwhile, is a black and white narrative adventure game, where the entire world is hand-drawn. Players will unravel the mysteries of this world by using their photography skills to solve the various problems of the game's NPCs. Granblue Fantasy: Versus wraps up the selection, and it's a 2.5D fighting game made by Arc System Works filled with a cast of interesting and complex characters. Multiplayer games often do well on PS Plus, as it's an instant community boost, so Granblue should fit right in.

How PS Plus subscribers react to this month's selection remains to be seen, but there is plenty of variety here. There's a racing game, a narrative adventure game, and a fighting game, all of which are distinct even within their own genres. Now, all subscribers can do is kick back, relax, and wait for Sony to release these new games.

PS Plus subscribers get a handful of games every month.
