The latest collection of titles made available to PlayStation Plus subscribers at all tiers have arrived and are available to download off the PlayStation Store. However, for fans looking to install these free PS Plus Essential titles onto their PS4 and PS5 systems, some may need to clear some space for the larger entries across the subscription service.
Fortunately, the available games have been compiled by file size, giving fans an idea of exactly how much storage space will be required to pick up each of the free titles. That being said, it should still be noted that when choosing to download the free PlayStation Plus games instead of streaming them through the higher Premium tier will want to leave extra space to allow each one to update with upcoming patches.
The smallest game on the list would be Toem for PS5, a delightful camera adventure by indie developer Something We Made, is less than a gigabyte, clocking in at less than 300MB. Next up is Cygames' Granblue styled fighting title, which comes in at a little over 9GB when accounting for the base game without Granblue Fantasy: Versus' DLC options. Finally, Need for Speed: Heat is the largest of the three by far, requiring more than 35GB of space in order to be downloaded onto any PS4 or PS5 console.
It should also be noted that since these games are still being supported by their developers, many of them will likely still be receiving updates in the coming month that players can add to their PSN libraries. In that case, fans should make sure to keep additional space available on their consoles so that their PS4s and PS5s can complete the full update and copying process. With even Need for Speed: Heat being the largest of these free PS Plus titles, at only 35GB the game still only takes a small amount of the total storage on even the smallest hard drives available for PlayStation systems.
Most of these games have small file sizes relative to some titles available on PSN at the moment. This is especially the case when compared to live-service games like Marvel's Avengers, which came to some PS Plus tiers in July. In this case, it shouldn't be too difficult to clear out enough space to at least give some of these new titles a try. The tiny file size for Toem on PS5 makes it even easier to quickly download and give this little adventure a quick playthrough.
