On the last Wednesday of every month, PlayStation Plus subscribers can look forward to Sony revealing the next batch of free games. And then on the first Tuesday of every month, PS Plus subscribers can look forward to actually downloading those new games. It's now Tuesday, February 2, which means the free PS Plus games for February 2021 are available, giving subscribers the chance to add three new games to their collection.

The headlining game in the lineup is arguably Destruction AllStars, a PlayStation 5 exclusive title that was originally meant to be a launch title for Sony's next-generation console. Destruction AllStars is a vehicular combat game where players battle it out in an arena with unique characters and cars. Its gimmick is that players are able to exit their vehicles, which is rarely seen in the genre. It's the first big PS5 exclusive of 2021 and it being free on PlayStation Plus should do wonders to ensure that it has an active online playerbase for some time to come.

PlayStation 5 owners can also get their hands on Control: Ultimate Edition. Technically one of the PS4 offerings for February 2021, Control: Ultimate Edition includes a free upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version, which just launched today. Control: Ultimate Edition on PS5 has a variety of next-generation enhancements for players to take advantage of, including overall better performance and sharper graphics.

And finally, those on PS4 can try Concrete Genie through their PlayStation Plus membership. Concrete Genie is much smaller in scale when compared to Destruction AllStars and Control: Ultimate Edition, but it's a solid PlayStation exclusive that earned decent reviews at the time of its release. Concrete Genie also has some VR functionality, so those with a PlayStation VR headset lying around can take advantage of that as well.

Ultimately, those who own a PlayStation 5 will be getting the most bang for their buck when it comes to PlayStation Plus in February. Not only do they get access to the superior version of Control, but they also get a brand new game in Destruction AllStars and access to Concrete Genie as well. After all, PlayStation 5 is backward compatible with PS4 games, so any PS4 games added to the PS Plus lineup are also playable on Sony's new console.

Since the PlayStation 5 launched, Sony has been going all-in with PlayStation Plus, giving away free games that have been generally well-received by the community. It will be interesting to see how the company is able to top itself with the free PS Plus games for March 2021, whatever they may be. In the meantime, subscribers have until March 2 to claim the free PS Plus games for February 2021.
