The PS Plus game reveal and announcement formula has gotten a shake-up with the introduction of the Extra and Premium Tiers, but it all remains the same for PS Plus Essential users. This means Sony will announce the slate of new games later today, as well as release them on the first Tuesday of August (August 2).

Of course, when everything stays the same, that goes for the leaks too. For several months now, a Dealabs user known as Billbil-kun has accurately leaked every single PS Plus Essential title with a high degree of accuracy. Until Sony confirms the latest leaked line-up, fans should take it with a grain of salt, but it does come from a reliable source.

According to Billbil-Kun, the PS Plus free games for August 2022 include Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater (PS5/PS4), Yakuza: Like a Dragon (PS5/PS4), and Little Nightmares (PS4). To access these games, fans will only need a PS Plus Essential subscription, but those on higher tiers will gain access to these as well. Overall, it’s a pretty strong line-up—perhaps one of the best out of recent months.

PS Plus Free Games for August 2022 Leaked List

  • Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater (PS5/PS4)
  • Yakuza: Like a Dragon (PS5/PS4)
  • Little Nightmares (PS4)

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 is a beloved skateboarding game, and when fans learned that a Pro Skater 3+4 remake was canceled, they were quite upset. Yakuza has always been a popular franchise, and the latest in the franchise took a new, well-received approach. In fact, it’s so popular that when Yakuza 8 images appeared online, that community was ecstatic. These two major games are joined by Little Nightmares, a beloved little game about childhood fears.

It remains to be seen, of course, how these titles are received by fans, but it seems promising. Sony is expected to reveal these titles later today and release them on August 2. Until then, fans can claim the PS Plus free games for July 2022—these include Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time for PS5/PS4, Arcadegeddon for PS5/PS4, and The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan for PS4.

About halfway through August, fans can also expect Sony to unveil and release new games for the Extra and Premium tier. Given the PS Plus Extra and Premium games for July 2022 totaled up to 18 games, fans could be in for a real treat, quality and quantity, in August.
