Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive confirms that its upcoming title Meet Your Maker will be a day one PS Plus Essential tier title when it releases on April 4. Meet Your Maker, which hosted an open beta back in February, is a post-apocalyptic building-and-raiding game where players take on the role of the Custodian. Crafting Builders to kill other players, raiding outposts created by others to survive, and upgrading their arsenal with GenMat, a rare resource, are all necessary to save life on Earth.
Interested fans will be able to check out Meet Your Maker on PS4 and PS5 day one through PS Plus, but Behaviour Interactive has also confirmed a standard and deluxe edition for the game. The former is straightforward: it's the game priced at $29.99. The Deluxe edition, priced at $39.99, includes the Scorched Necropolis Pack which provides players with Egyptian-themed blocks, props, decals, a weapon skin, and some custodian skins.
Meet Your Maker will release on April 4, day-and-date with PS Plus and last on the service through May 1, with PS4 and PS5 owners able to claim the game. At this time, Sony has yet to confirm the other two, or perhaps three, games that will join it in April. Traditionally, these line-ups are confirmed on the Wednesday before their Tuesday release, so fans will likely learn about the others on Wednesday, March 29. Until then, this sneak peek will likely tide fans over.
Meet Your Maker may not be a big AAA game on the tips of everyone's tongue right now, but it is the perfect title for a PS Plus release. It's no secret PS Plus multiplayer games benefit from immediate access to a community, and having that on day one is a big boon for Meet Your Maker on PlayStation consoles. Similar examples can be seen in how PS Plus boosted Rocket League, Fall Guys, and Deep Rock Galactic player counts, though it does remain to be seen if this can replicate that success.
That's the goal, though, according to Meet Your Maker creative director Ash Pannell.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to launch Meet Your Maker as part of the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games lineup. Meet Your Maker is a game about community and creativity. We can’t wait to see PlayStation players start raiding each other’s Outposts and all the incredible creations this dedicated and highly-engaged community will come up with.”
Only one PS Plus free game for April 2023 has been confirmed so far, but it already sounds exciting. As it stands, it seems that April has a solid chance of beating the PS Plus free games for March 2023 in terms of quality.
