With the world in the middle of a global pandemic that's led to travel restrictions, toilet paper shortages, and the closure of major events worldwide including E3 2020 being canceled, more and more people are being forced to self-quarantine, work from home, and avoid going out in public whenever possible. All this time at home means more time to play great games and catch up on the backlog of missed games, (though everyone should be putting their health and health of others first), so it's important that Sony brings the goods each month with PlayStation Plus for this and a variety of other reasons. Here’s our complete PS Plus free games wish list for April 2020.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

uncharted lost legacy easter egg

Sony began the year of PS Plus with Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, a remastered collection of the first three games in the series. With developer Naughty Dog's next big game, The Last of Us Part 2 a little over two months away from being released, there's another great spin-off game that didn't receive quite the same love as its numbered predecessors and would be a fantastic pick as a PS Plus title for anyone that missed it: Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

Originally announced as a single-player story DLC for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, Naughty Dog's vision and goals for Uncharted: The Lost Legacy quickly became far too ambitious and became its own standalone game. Stepping away from Nathan Drake, this time around Chloe Fraser is the star of the show in search of the legendary tusk of Ganesh in India's Western Ghats. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is a smaller, personal story that proved there's life in the series with or without its central protagonist.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is available now for PS4.

Guacamelee! 2

There are few indie developers around that are as simultaneously revered and underrated as the Toronto based Drinkbox Studios. Making a name for itself during the age of PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, Drinkbox is best known for indie hits such as Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack, Guacamelee!, and Severed, and currently the only game that hasn't been released on PS Plus is the 2018 Metroidvania platformer, Guacamelee! 2.

Players take control of Juan Aguacate, a luchador a.k.a. a Mexican professional wrestler, on a quest to save the "Mexiverse" from Salvador, a corrupted luchador from the Darkest Timeline. In our Guacamelee! 2 review, we praised the sequel for being "bigger and better than the first game while retaining the original's charm, humor, eye-catching art style, and rewarding Metroidvania-style gameplay."

Guacamelee! 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.

The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series

The Walking Dead Telltale

When Telltale Games released the critically acclaimed first season of Telltale's The Walking Dead back in 2012, the video game landscape was changed forever. And while subsequent seasons never quite reached the heights of the first one, it didn't feel any less devastating when Telltale Games closed in 2018, halfway through the development of Telltale's The Walking Dead: The Final Season. Luckily, the season was later saved by publisher Skybound, and as a celebration of the series, lead to the development and release of a complete collection called The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series.

The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series includes all four complete seasons, as well as the 400 Days DLC episode for the first season, and The Walking Dead: Michonne, a three-episode side story about the titular character. On top of that, all previous seasons were remastered using The Final Season's new rendering system, high-definition texture mapping, improved character models, improved lip-syncing, improved lighting, and over ten hours of developer commentary. Many people missed out on the final season of Clementine's story due to the closure of Telltale Games and this could be the perfect way to honor the series legacy.

The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Hollow Knight

ps plus wishlist

Earlier this week, Xbox players were treated with the release of Ori and the Will of the Wisps, the highly anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed 2015 platformer/Metroidvania Ori and the Blind Forest. Currently sitting at a score of 90 on Metacritic for Xbox One, Moon Studios has managed to outdo itself, surpassing its predecessor and leaving PlayStation users in the dust. That is unless Sony decides to release another popular Metroidvania on PS Plus in April following the success of Ori and the Will of the Wisps, one that Moon Studios took heavy inspiration from - Hollow Knight.

Created by Australian developer Team Cherry, Hollow Knight is a 2D Metroidvania action-adventure game that tells the story of an insectoid Knight that's set out to uncover the secrets of a long-abandoned underground insect kingdom called Hallownest. Team Cherry combined elements of games like Super Metroid, Celeste, and Dark Souls to create this challenging but rewarding experience where players must make there way into the depths of Hallownest, discover new regions, defeat bosses, and learn how to perfectly execute attacks and traversal.

Hollow Knight is available now for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Last month, Sony surprised PlayStation Plus subscribers with a bonus PSVR game on top of the standard two PS4 games, a first for the subscription service in some time. Given that it was described as a bonus game, Sony made the point that fans shouldn't expect this to be a regular occurrence, only offering Shadow of the Colossus and Sonic Forces for the month of March. While Sony might begin adding PS5 games to the rotation once the new console release later this year, for now, fingers crossed that PSVR bonus games start to appear a little more frequently.

PlayStation Plus members receive two free games every month with their subscription.
