PlayStation Plus subscribers just learned about the free PS Plus games for December 2021, with the lineup consisting of Godfall: Challenger Edition, LEGO DC Super-Villains, and Mortal Shell. The free PlayStation Plus games for December 2021 won't be available until Tuesday, December 7, but in the meantime, some subscribers may not even realize that they still have time to claim three bonus games.

To celebrate the release of the PlayStation VR headset, Sony added three free PlayStation VR games as part of the free PS Plus games for November 2021 lineup. The games included The Persistence, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, and Until You Fall, all three of which are considered to be some of the better games available for PlayStation VR. But just because they are part of the November 2021 lineup doesn't mean that they are going away soon.

Most of the free PS Plus games for November 2021 will be removed on December 7 when the free PS Plus games for December 2021 replace them. However, the free PlayStation VR games are actually going to stay available to PS Plus subscribers all the way to January 3. They will be removed at that point, as will the free PS Plus games for December 2021, which will then be replaced by the very first free PS Plus games of 2022.

  • Godfall: Challenger Edition (PS5/PS4)
  • LEGO DC Super-Villains (PS4)
  • Mortal Shell (PS4)
  • The Persistence (PS4/PSVR)
  • The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners (PSVR)
  • Until You Fall (PSVR)

This isn't the first time that Sony has offered bonus games through PlayStation Plus. In fact, the free PS Plus games for February 2020 included Firewall: Zero Hour as a bonus free game, and there have been a handful of other times PSVR games have been on offer as well. It doesn't seem like something Sony is going to make a habit for its free PS Plus games, but it's always nice when a bonus comes along.

This also isn't the first time that free PS Plus games have been available for subscribers to download for longer than the usual 1 month. Ever since the launch of the PlayStation 5 last November, there have been multiple times when a free PS Plus game has been available for two months instead of the usual one. It happened with PS5 launch title Bugsnax as well as the car combat game Destruction AllStars, for example.
