The new PS Plus tier system has been available in North America for a week now, with fans diving into the new libraries of games. It hasn’t all been smooth, as a game or two on PS Plus Premium has been bugged, but overall it seems the reception has been positive.

Time marches on, of course. The PS Plus free Essential games for July 2022 will be revealed in the coming days, and new additions to the Extra and Premium list will be revealed following that. Fans already know Stray will join day one next month, but no matter what, there are a ton of games available to the service.

While what games on PS Plus Extra and Premium are best is a matter of taste, reviews are a different story. Redditor anchuto has put together a spreadsheet, compiling the PS Plus Extra games by their OpenCritic average. This lets users see exactly where every game falls, when games are leaving, and more. It’s interesting that PS Plus Extra has a clean list of 10 games that have review averages of 90+.

Namely, these ten games are God of War (95), Red Dead Redemption 2 (95), Celeste (93), Demon’s Souls Remake (92), Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (92), Bloodborne (91), Hollow Knight (91), Shadow of the Colossus (91), Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition (90), and Tetris Effect: Connected (90). Indeed, if a PS Plus Extra subscriber has yet to play any of the aforementioned games, they are not a bad starting place on the service.

This list is quite extensive, compiling every game on the PS Plus Extra service—even those without OpenCritic scores. Discounting those, there are 5 games on PS Plus Extra with review averages below 40. Many PS Plus Extra players may wish to avoid these, as they are at the bottom of the list, so it’s worth noting they are Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back (39), Harvest Moon Mad Dash (37), Left Alive: Day One Edition (37), Fluster Cluck (35), and Cartoon Network: Battlecrashers (29).

It should be noted that PS Plus Extra and Premium work like Netflix or Game Pass. These games are largely only available for a limited time. How long that is may be hard to determine though. However, it’s comforting that, of the top ten PS Plus Extra games mentioned above, Red Dead Redemption 2 is the only one with a PS Plus Extra exit date, and that’s in September.

PS Plus subscribers get a handful of free games every month.
