The Extra and Premium PlayStation Plus subscription tiers are getting a big update on November 15, at which point subscribers will have access to 20 more games, including four Kingdom Hearts titles. Once November 15 rolls around, PlayStation Plus subscribers that are signed up for the Extra or Premium tiers will be able to play through nearly the entire Kingdom Hearts franchise without paying anything beyond their typical subscription fee.

On November 15, PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers are adding Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, Kingdom Hearts 3, and Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory. On the surface, it appears that this will just be four Kingdom Hearts games, but it's worth pointing out that Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX is a huge collection of KH titles that inflates the number to a whopping nine Kingdom Hearts games in total (with some caveats to keep in mind). All the games will be playable on both PS4 and PS5 thanks to the latter's backward compatibility.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX includes Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories, and the story for Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. Kingdom Hearts Final Mix is the most fully-featured version of the original game available, while Re: Chain of Memories is a remake of the Game Boy Advance game that swaps the franchise's typical combat with a card-based system. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days features the cutscenes of the Nintendo DS game of the same name. Unfortunately, fans can't actually play 358/2 Days through the Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX collection.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX, meanwhile, features Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep Final Mix, and Kingdom Hearts Re: Coded, the latter of which is available only in cutscene form, similar to 358/2 Days. Dedicated Kingdom Hearts fans could easily spend hundreds of hours playing through Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX alone, but there's even more to look forward to on that day.

November 15 will also see the addition of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, which includes a remake of the once-3DS exclusive Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance as well as Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth By Sleep - A Fragmentary Passage, and the Kingdom Hearts X Back Cover hour-long cutscene.

Once players have had their fill of these Kingdom Hearts games on PS Plus Extra, they can move on to Kingdom Hearts 3, the latest main series entry in the long-running action-RPG series. Kingdom Hearts 3 reviews were mostly positive at the time of its release, but there are those who feel it doesn't reach the same heights as its predecessors. In any case, fans can play through that as well as the music/rhythm game Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory, after which they should be all set for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 4.
