Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town was previously confirmed to be coming to the PlayStation Plus subscription service next week through its Extra tier, but now it seems those plans have been scrapped. Sony updates the Extra tier of its PlayStation Plus subscription service about once per month, adding a bunch of games to the lineup while simultaneously removing some titles from the roster as well.

This coming Tuesday, May 16 will be a big day for PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers. Some notable games are getting removed that day, like Insomniac's Spider-Man game, but major titles are being added as well. Some of the new PS Plus Extra games coming on May 16 include PS5 exclusive Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and day one game Humanity, but Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town is apparently no longer part of the lineup.

Sony initially announced 19 new PS Plus Extra games for May 2023, with Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town being among them. Sony has since updated its blog post where it announced the new PS Plus Extra games for May 2023, removing any mention of Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town in the process. No explanation has been given as to why Story of Seasons has been removed from the PS Plus Extra lineup, and it's unlikely that one will be provided.

This is likely to frustrate PS Plus Extra subscribers who were looking forward to play Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town through their subscription. On the bright side, there should still be plenty of new games to play come May 16. PS Plus Extra is getting 18 new games in total that day, including the aforementioned day one game Humanity, which is shaping up to be quite impressive based on what's been shown so far.

Those who are signed up for the PS Plus Premium tier have even more to look forward to on May 16. PS Plus Premium subscribers get access to all the titles available through PS Plus Extra, plus classic games. Four old-school games are coming to PS Plus Premium as part of the May 16 update, with three of those titles originating on the PSP. Fans have been criticizing PS Plus Premium for its lack of PSP games, so the next update should be a big step in the right direction. There's still quite a ways to go, however.
