PlayStation Plus subscribers who pay for the Extra tier may want to prioritize certain games over others as 10 titles are scheduled to leave the lineup on Tuesday, January 2023. While many PlayStation Plus subscribers are used to keeping the monthly free games, the titles available through PS Plus Extra function differently, and are instead cycled in and out of availability, ala Netflix or Xbox Game Pass.

Sony adds new games to PS Plus Extra every month, with the latest batch of titles having just been announced. Tuesday, January 17 will see the new PS Plus Extra games for January 2023 added to the lineup, but that same day will also see 10 games removed from availability. Needless to say, PS Plus Extra subscribers are going to want to take note of the games leaving the service on January 2023 in case they want to play any of them before they're gone.

As reported by Push Square, PS Plus Extra subscribers will be losing access to Bound by Flame, The Council, Electronic Super Joy, Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek, The Last Tinker: City of Colors, Leo's Fortune, Masters of Anima, Seasons After Fall, Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom, and Space Hulk: Tactics on January 17. None of these games are big, high profile releases, but there may still be some PS Plus Extra subscribers who are sad to see them go.

In the meantime, it should be pointed out that one of the games that was previously announced to be coming to the PS Plus Extra lineup on January 2023 isn't being added to the service after all. Initially, Sony said that neon rhythm game Sayonara Wild Hearts was going to be part of the PS Plus Extra lineup for January 2023, but it has since retracted that claim. It's unclear exactly what's going on with Sayonara Wild Hearts, but it will be interesting to see if the game eventually makes its way to the PS Plus Extra lineup or not.

There are also some new PS Plus Premium games to look forward to in January 2023 as well, and luckily, it doesn't seem like any of the Premium tier games are at risk of being removed from the service just yet. While Sony has removed quite a few games from the PS Plus Extra lineup since last summer's revamp, PS Plus Premium has been mostly left alone. Time will tell if Sony starts removing games from PS Plus Premium, but the retro games should be safe for now.
