Sony recently removed a popular PlayStation Plus feature that let fans know when certain games would be leaving the lineup, but now it's brought the feature back. While many games are added to the PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers of Sony's PlayStation Plus service on a regular basis, the vast majority of them are added without any kind of removal date announced. In rare cases when games are only going to be available on the service for a comparatively short period of time, Sony usually lets fans know exactly when they're leaving.

This changed recently when Sony removed the expiration dates for the games listed in its PS Plus Last Chance to Play section. Understandably, this upset some PS Plus subscribers who want to know when certain games are leaving the lineup. This way, they can prioritize playing certain games over the others to make sure that they play everything they want before the games leave the service.

As spotted by Push Square, the expiration dates have been added back to the PS Plus Extra and Premium games that are leaving the service. Considering how fast Sony added the expiration dates back to the games, it's possible this was simply a bug as opposed to a deliberate decision on the company's part. Regardless, the expiration dates are back and now subscribers know exactly when certain games are leaving, like Grand Theft Auto: Vice City - The Definitive Edition, for instance.

As was previously revealed by the Japanese PlayStation Store, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City - The Definitive Edition is leaving PS Plus on February 21, 2023. This gives PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers plenty of time to play through the game if they so desire. And even after it's removed, it's always possible it will be added back at some point, as this isn't even the first time that Grand Theft Auto: Vice City - The Definitive Edition has been a part of the PS Plus Extra and Premium lineup.

Push Square has also noted that a game that was previously listed in the Last Chance to Play Section has been removed since the expiration dates have been brought back. Apparently, Rez Infinite was listed in the Last Chance to Play section, but it's no longer showing up. This could be further evidence that the Last Chance to Play section was bugged and not displaying all the correct information, but it could also be a result of human error. Sony is unlikely to provide any additional details on the situation, though, so PS Plus subscribers can rest easy knowing that their expiration dates back.
