It has been over a week since the PlayStation 5 released in many areas of the world, including the US, Canada, and Japan. Unfortunately, there are still issues and plenty of frustration stemming from those issues with PS5 orders, and many people are taking to Twitter to voice their grievances using the PS Direct tag.

The PlayStation 5 has been highly anticipated since it was revealed, and plenty of people have been wanting to get their hands on the console. While some of those people have managed to secure a PS5, many others are reporting issues with ordering online, which is a necessity for those people in quarantine or social distancing situations.

PS Direct put up consoles for sale, which was exciting news for people who weren't able to get a console via a third-party retailer. PS5 pre-orders on PS Direct opened up earlier this year, but many people had issues with pre-orders through both PS Direct and other retailers. Of course, the issues weren't limited to the PS5, and Xbox Series X/S fans faced similar frustrations.

Many people are reporting that they got the PS Direct PS5 drop notification or heard about it from friends, and issues with the queue are happening to a lot of potential buyers. Some people are saying the site made them get to the back of the queue after already waiting for a while, kicking them out entirely, and then reporting that the site is out of PS5 stock. This is causing some customers to feel like they are not getting a fair chance to get a console that they might've gotten if they'd been allowed to keep their place in the queue. Other people are upset that they missed the notification about a drop or were unable to take time away to get to a computer and method of payment.

Not everyone in the PS Direct tag is having a negative experience, although they make up the majority of the tweets. Some people are celebrating by posting receipts of their order confirmations from PS Direct, and thanking people for notifying them about the console drop so they could finally buy a PS5.

Not all of the issues with access to PS5s are coming from retailers, PS Direct, or websites being unable to handle large amounts of hopeful customers. Scalpers and PS5 eBay scammers have been a huge problem in the time since the console released, with some people even being tricked into buying photos of the PS5 for the full price. EBay says it plans to stop that particular issue, and some individual retailers are also working on preventing console scalpers from taking advantage of people who just want to finally be able to buy a PS5 for themselves.
