Xbox Game Pass is adding a range of great-looking new games in January 2021 to kick off the new year. Major games including fighting game Injustice 2, the ARPG Torchlight 3, and the haunting adventure game What Remains of Edith Finch will be available this month. One other January addition appears to have snuck under the radar, however. Developer Other Ocean Interactive announced that its social deduction game Project Winter arrives on Xbox Game Pass later this month.

Project Winter, for those who aren't familiar, is a social deduction game not entirely unlike Among Us. It's a multiplayer game in which players work not just to survive but to root out anonymous traitors in the team's midst. Rather than being set in space, however, Project Winter is set in a desolate frozen wasteland. And rather than perform randomized mini-games, Project Winter is driven by survival mechanics, exploration, and teamwork.

The game will feature a robust feature set, too. 8 players will be able to participate in a given match, and with cross-platform play supporting both PC and console players will be able to find their friends easily. Also available via a premium will be Project Winter's first expansion, Blackout. The expansion adds new traitor roles, as well as new survivors.

According to Project Winter developer Other Ocean, the game will officially launch on Xbox Game Pass on January 26. It'll be available not just on Xbox Game Pass for console, but on Xbox Game Pass for PC, too. As noted, it supports crossplay so all Project Winter players can play together. Add it to the list of awesome Xbox Game Pass additions in January.

Project Winter is available now on PC and is coming to Xbox soon.
