There are several games in development under the umbrella of the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds IP, and keeping up with the number of announcements could be a daunting task. Many studios have been working on the games set in the PUBG universe, with the latest addition to the PUBG lineup being a leaked battle royale game by Striking Distance Studios under the codename Project Titan.

This leak was uncovered by PUBG insider PlayerIGN, who found the game under the listing of games that were set inside of the PUBG universe, such as Project Cowboy and The Callisto Protocol. Among some titles that were announced for the IP was one under the codename of Project Titan. This one is set to be developed by the Striking Distance Studios, a studio created by Dead Space's Glen Schofield.

PlayerIGN theorized that with the team working on both The Callisto Protocol and Project Titan, these two games could be linked in some way. The genres of the games are quite different from another based on the listing seen. The Callisto Protocol is a single-player horror game set in PUBG's "Black Iron Prison" located on the moon of Jupiter. With Project Titan being a battle royale, PlayerIGN theorized that this game would be set on Saturn's moon, Titan. They further theorized that the prisoners of "Black Iron Prison" would be subjected to deadly battle royale matches after being sent to this moon. This would tie in both The Callisto Protocol and the code name of Project Titan.

With The Callisto Protocol being silent on news for the last year, this new information might come as a bit of a surprise for some people. Dead Space was one of the most critically acclaimed horror game franchises of the late-2000s. Many chalk its success to the emphasis on the horror elements involved, and its failings tied to when Dead Space 3 was asked to be moved in a different direction, straying it far from the horror genre.

With this game focused entirely on the same battle royale genre that PUBG already has a place in, it might raise some concern. Some fans might think that it could be better spent on polishing the game that already has a title and plays to the studio's strengths.

The legacy of Dead Space lives on in The Callisto Procotol, with many fans hoping that it will be the Dead Space 4 the franchise needed. With the possibility of the developer being split between developing that game and Project Titan, it could be a contributing factor to why no news has shown up about it in the last year. However, all of this information is currently speculation, as Project Titan hasn't been announced properly yet, so time will tell if there are legitimate concerns to be raised or not.

Project Titan is rumored to be in development for PC and consoles.
