Players will need time, patience, resolve, and a little bit of masochism in between in order to conquer the challenges ahead. That is why we'll provide some of the best tips, tricks, and strategies you'll need to overcome the odds. These tips include a variety of settings, buffs, debuffs, and more that will be very helpful.

10 Avoiding Enemies

There will be some enemies that players might want to run from due to certain circumstances, such as not wanting to risk progression or saving supplies. It's a good thing then that in Nioh 2 players can skip almost all enemies by gaining the Thief and Tiger Running Ninja Scrolls.

Once gained, players can combine the two to become virtually invisible to enemies. This can be especially useful for evading enemies and unlocking shortcuts with ease. So one should remember these tools to cut down time and frustration.

9 Clearing Dark Realms

Dark Realms are not the most fun place to be in, in Nioh 2. It's a region where Yokai are significantly stronger, and Ki recovery is slowed. Though Anima is generated at a faster rate, it's still tedious to transverse if a player doesn't know where they are doing.

However, a Dark Realm can be cleared once you find the cause or killing a boss in the area. Finding the source enemy or boss in a Dark Realm is the first thing a player should do. Doing this will ultimately clear out the region, and it'll become normal again.

8 Getting Some Help

A new feature in Nioh 2 is the Benevolent Grave. These graves help you call upon a specter to fight alongside a player. A feature reminiscence of phantoms in the Dark Souls series. These NPCs will fight alongside the player until their mission is over or the specter us vanquished.

To keep using this feature, though, players will need Ochoko cups; an item gained from defeating revenants. Additionally, players can also put down a Benevolent Grave by placing some Righteous Jasper, a new item in Nioh 2 that will enable them to place a specter of their own to assist other players.

7 Challenge Revenants

On the other side of the coin are revenants that can be fought by approaching bloody graves. Revenants are a returning feature from the original Nioh and serve as NPC challenges of varying difficulty and level to the player. Once the player is able to defeat the revenant, they get a chance to gain some useful loot as well.

So players new and old to the series should always remember to fight these as it not only hones their skills but also gives the chance to gain some neat stuff as well. An even easier way to do this is to have a friend with you to farm them. That way, everyone wins, and the process becomes way easier as well.

6 Use The Shock Elemental Damage

Shock is by far one of the most useful and overpowered elemental damage types in Nioh 2. Using the Shock elemental on enemies will cause them to become slow and open to more hits, which can be very helpful against some of the speedy enemies in Nioh.

When players are upgrading their weapons, they should always remember the Shock and +Shock buffs for their weapons, which will make some enemies or boss fights drastically reduce in difficulty. Combine this as well as some other damage type some bosses are weak to, and they'll be defeated in no time.

5 Find The Lost Kodama

Kodama are little green mushroom-like creatures returning from the original Nioh. These creatures can be found scattered everywhere and in specific areas of the game. Players are implored to find these creatures and return them to the shrine where they belong.

Doing this will net the player some special blessings, such as an increase in the amount of recovery gained when Elixirs are consumed. This is obviously very useful as it helps when facing a tough opponent. A little extra health can go a long way, especially with a game like Nioh, so collect those cute creatures.

4 Fuse Duplicate Soul Cores

Soul Cores are a brand new item type to Nioh 2. These items drop from Yokai and bosses and provide Yokai abilities that consume Anima energy. Players can equip multiple of these cores, depending on their attunement limit. They also affect Yokai shift ability and reward other bonuses.

It's also natural to find one or more copies of the same Soul Core as there is more than one type of the same enemy once a player finds a duplicate; they are advised to fuse them to rank that Soul Core thereby gaining more bonuses.

3 Weaknesses And Sloth

One great thing about Nioh 2 is the many different ways one can use to defeat an enemy. One of which is using the Sloth and Weakness talismans specifically on Higher level bosses. Doing so will drastically reduce the amount of time and effort needed to down them, as their movement becomes incredibly slow similar to the effects of Shock.

Sloth specifically is really overpowered, making enemies seem like child's play so much so, some veteran players avoid using it to make the game much harder for themselves and to maintain the challenge.

2 Resetting Skill Points At the Dojo

Respecing skill points is vital to those who want to adapt to certain situations or would like to change up their build. This is why players are granted the opportunity to reset their skill points in the Dojo by pressing the triangle button.

It costs a bit of gold for whatever skill you reset, but at this point, money shouldn't be an object, especially for such a useful feature in the game. Alternatively, players can purchase the book of resurrection from the blacksmith for ten thousand gold. Doing it this way, however, will reset all skills, not just individual ones.

1 Always Use Feral Burst Counters

Burst Counters are a great way to avoid damage from Burst attacks from enemies and bosses alike. They're like a parry, but Yokai infused. Though a useful thing to remember, there are more ways to improve on them. Feral Burst Counters are an upgraded Form of Burst counters based on the spirit guardian you use.

Feral Counters are especially useful as it counters just about any attack from the enemy and, if learned properly, can be quite an advantage to have in battle. Couple that with Ki pulse, evades, and buffs, and any player can become a pro in no time.
