Watching popular video games such as Grand Theft Auto 5 and Payday 2 and commenting on their accuracy, former jewel thief Larry Lawton has made quite a name for himself recently on YouTube for his deeply inciteful content. With such a vast array of insane stories and unique perspectives, Lawton's channel has amassed a whopping 712,000 subscribers, with many tuning into his videos to hear more about his compelling experiences.

His most recent video, however, moved on to a game Lawton had never played before, with the popular YouTuber playing Prison Architect for the first time and showing viewers his jail. Along the way, Larry Lawton is very open about discussing his own experiences behind bars, with the former prison inmate revealing some harrowing tales about what life is like in jail.

The video begins with Lawton talking about the game and the prison he's made in his first few hours playing. His playthrough of Prison Architect is clearly in the very early stages, with the YouTuber's prison holding up to 60 inmates. Lawton is quick to begin talking about the game's inaccuracies, noting that Prison Architect combines maximum, medium, and minimum security prisoners into one prison when, in reality, all three types of inmate would be kept in separate jails. He also picks up on the fact dogs are kept in the facility, claiming he's never seen a canine unit in a prison.

Before long, Lawton is exchanging personal stories about his time behind bars. Many of the stories are utterly shocking, with the ex-inmate revealing his reputation meant he was "strapped down naked, beaten, and tortured," while he also refers to a tragic story in which a fellow prisoner was violently murdered for spending too much time on the phone. He also recalls prison shakedowns, where guards would search cells for contraband, weapons, or other illegal items. According to Lawton, guards would try and mess with inmates, taking legal documents, paintings, pens, and other personal items to rile up prisoners. He also reveals that shakedowns would turn up some insane results too, including a time where 25 shanks were found in Lawton's unit alone.

The twenty-two minute YouTube video is currently up on Lawton's channel and is well worth a watch for anyone interested in prison culture and the former jewel thief's insane experiences. Alongside that, he also uploads a number of other interesting videos, including a series where he evaluates the authenticity of Grand Theft Auto 5's heist segments.

Prison Architect is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
