The latest in the Assassin's Creed series, Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Valhalla, continues to generate exciting content for its playerbase despite first being released in 2020. The devs actively engage the community, cycling bugs and fixes for Assassin's Creed Valhalla alongside in-game events and content updates. Recently, the action RPG proved its relevance to the current pop culture scene when the director of the upcoming 2022 Prey movie shared that Valhalla inspired choices for the film's soundtrack.

It is not uncommon for the entertainment, pop culture, and video game industries to take inspiration from each other. Settings and scenes in movies can influence the development process of video games, while some movie and series characters draw inspiration from video game protagonists. With the Assassin's Creed Valhalla official soundtrack utilizing amazing talent during its production, it is not surprising that the Prey movie director Dan Trachtenberg wanted the same skill for his upcoming film.

On Twitter, Trachtenberg retweeted a post written by Assassin's Creed video game series composer Sarah Schachner talking about the upcoming 2022 Prey movie. In Schachner's tweet, she shared that the film's soundtrack, which she composed, will be released the same time as the movie, which is August 5, 2022. Trachtenberg then re-shared Schachner's post and said that he was playing Assassin's Creed Valhalla while they were preparing for the film in Calgary, Canada. Specifically noticing the game's soundtrack, the director's post implies he was likely inspired to hire Schachner to produce the music for the Prey movie because of her work on Valhalla.

Many users who wrote their replies on Trachtenberg's Twitter thread seem to be fans of Schachner's work. Some shared links to their favorite Assassin's Creed Valhalla background music, while others validated Trachtenberg's choice of music composer for the 2022 Prey movie. Schachner is well-known for her music work in the film and video game industry. She has produced music for games such as the Assassin's Creed series, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Far Cry 3, and more, as well as films like Iron Man 3, Expendables 2, and Now You See Me, among others.

According to Trachtenberg's post, he promises that the Assassin's Creed Valhalla community will likely hear more of Schachner's work in the future. This could mean that he plans to have Schachner produce more music for his upcoming film and series projects. Hopefully Trachtenberg remains true to his word as the Assassin's Creed Valhalla player base would probably love to support the talent behind the game that they love to play.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
