Are you a fan of horror and thriller sci-fi FPS? This just might be your weekend as Arkane Studio’s Prey is now released across all major platforms. In a relatively rare genre, the sci-fi thriller, Bethesda’s latest is receiving decent reviews in the PC gamer department.

The price tag is set at the typical $59.99 list price that we’ve come to expect, but PC gamers have plenty of third-party deal choices to pick up legitimate copies of Prey for cheap. For console gamers, if you’ve enjoyed the recent demo (and went beyond it), you’ll be happy to know that there are some bonuses available for console gamers as well.

The cheapest route to go is GamesPlanet whose price is only shown in British Pounds but is cheaper in the US. With a price of £34.99 and no region restrictions, you can buy Prey from them in the US and after currency conversion cost only about $45.40. That’s an impressive 24% discount for launch week.

Even better, if you live in Australia you will save a lot more money buying Prey from GamesPlanet or DLGamer, as Steam Store has the game priced at $79.99 USD, which translate to a giant overpriced $107 AUD.

For those in the US, Green Man Gaming has a 20% discount (price: $47.99) for those buying in the states. The only hoop you need to jump through at GMG is getting their “VIP” price, which just means you’ll need to login or create a new account.

Finally, for console gamers your only options for discounts are at either Best Buy or Amazon, both retailers will get you a 20% off discount on Prey for either the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, but going either route will require you to subscribe to either Best Buy’s Gamers Club Unlocked or Amazon Prime. For Amazon Prime’s offer on Prey, it will only be valid for the first two weeks after the game is released while Best Buy’s GCU is good towards any new condition games. Best Buy, however, has one additional bonus which Amazon does not provide: when you purchase a copy of Prey on the PS4 or Xbox One, you’ll receive a free Steelbook cover.

Prey’s Cosmonaut Shotgun Pack

With all the retailers listed above, you’ll get the same Cosmonaut Shotgun Pack as you would get paying full price on Steam Store (or other retail stores for the console versions). The shotgun pack isn’t going to get you hordes of new content but is at least an incentive to buy early during release week.

The pack includes:

  • Margrave Shotgun & Ammo Plans
  • 2 Medkits
  • Starter Fabrication Materials
  • 3 Transtar Neuromods
  • 1 Recycler Shielding Chipset

Bethesda’s Prey released on Friday, May 5. After installation Prey will take up 20GB of hard drive space on the PC. The game, published by Bethesda and developed by Arkane Studios,  is available on the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
