Sony's final State of Play dropped a number of bombshells to cap off the year and prep for The Game Awards, and among the grand announcements came big news on Predator: Hunting Grounds. A new trailer shows off the asymmetric shooter, focusing highly on the power of the Predator and finishing off by revealing the release date for the new title.

Players will be able to don the Predator helmet and start chasing teams of four marines around on April 24th, 2020 exclusively for the PS4. Developed by IllFonic, the company behind 2017's Friday The 13th: The Game, Predator: Hunting Grounds promises to put players into the shoes of the killer as they rip the skulls out of marines.

The new trailer emphasizes the killer side of the multiplayer gameplay, putting all of the Predator's weapons and abilities on display. Players will be able to fully customize their Predator to play the way they want to play, choosing Predator classes and gear to best suit their play style. With shoulder cannons, active-camo, and bladed melee weapons pulled strait from the Predator movies, Predator: Hunting Grounds promises to make an authentic experience for players.

This latest trailer is the first time IllFonic has gone public with information on Predator: Hunting Grounds since the gameplay reveal trailer that premiered in August. Since that previous trailer, players have had to sit and wait for any news on the state of development. Fortunately, players won't have to wait much longer to get their hands on the game, thanks to the April 24th release date.

With IllFonic's track record on asymmetric multiplayer, name with Friday The 13th: The Game, players are clearly in for quite the experience when Predator: Hunting Grounds drops. Although, players who are excited for the chance play as the Predator since first Predator: Hunting Grounds rumors started surfacing may want to take on the new game slowly. After the rocky launch of Friday The 13th: The Game, with server issues and glitches plaguing the first few weeks, players may want to let IllFonic work out the kinks immediately after launch before properly judging the game.

Although, it is likely that IllFonic learned from the previous experience and Predator: Hunting Grounds will hit the ground running, ready to give the intense experience fans are hoping to get out of playing as the legendary Predator.
