This year's CES has already begun and, unsurprisingly, Sony made an appearance and shared a new sizzle reel for upcoming PlayStation 5 games. It's very brief and mostly consists of footage that had already been shown previously, but eagle-eyed viewers spotted new release windows for some of the titles shown, such as Ghostwire: Tokyo, Project Athia, and Pragmata.

As a reminder, Pragmata was among the very first games announced for the PS5, with it being shown as part of the console's initial unveiling. It was given a release year of 2022, but the CES 2021 video now labels it has coming out in 2023, meaning it's been delayed by about a year.

No official explanation or reason has been given for the delay, but it's possible that the ongoing coronavirus pandemic played a part in it. Either that or it simply needs more time. The original announcement trailer was purely cinematic and didn't show off any gameplay.

Plus, what was shown was incredibly vague and didn't give much indication as to what kind of game it will be or what the story is about. It depicted what looked like an astronaut exploring an abandoned city, and coming across a little girl, before the scenery distorts in bizarre fashion, with the two flying into the air as the sky itself seems to glitch out, ending with them standing on what appears to be the moon.

The trailer's cryptic nature drew plenty of comparisons to Death Stranding but that doesn't exactly help explain anything, and Capcom, which is developing and publishing it, hasn't mentioned the game or shared any new footage since the June announcement. What is known about the game is that it's a whole new IP and is scheduled to release on PS5, as well as Xbox Series X/S, and PC. As for when Capcom intends to share new information about Pragmata remains to be seen.

Despite the delay, Capcom still has plenty of other projects in the pipeline to fill up its 2021 and 2022 release schedules. At least, that's the assumption, judging by the four-year schedule that was leaked following a cyber attack against the company in November.

Aside from this year's Monster Hunter Rise and Resident Evil 8, Capcom purportedly has a number of remakes planned, as well as new entries in its Mega Man, Resident Evil, and Street Fighter franchises. Obviously, none of these have been officially announced.

While these leaked games have stirred excitement online, it's important to note that the information was effectively stolen from Capcom, alongside personal data for current and former Capcom employees.

Pragmata is scheduled to release in 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
