Fans of the Power Rangers franchise should recall a 2017 film with the same name. Following promotions including a Power Rangers marathon on Twitch, the movie was supposed to start a film series, but sequels were cut after it massively under-performed box office expectations. Because the next film was axed, fans never got to see a modern version of Tommy Oliver, the Green Power Ranger, who was briefly teased at the end of the movie.

Originally brainwashed into being evil, Tommy was given the Green Ranger powers and kept them after joining the heroes. Over the next decade, Tommy played a major role in multiple Power Rangers series and would morph four more times as the White Ranger, Zeo Ranger V-Red, the Red Turbo Ranger, and the Dino Thunder Black Ranger. Although the Green Ranger never got an official costume in the reboot, costume designer Sanit Klamchanuan gives his own take on what could have been.

In response to a fan's question, Klamchanuan posted on Instagram how the Green Ranger may have looked in the film series. He explained that his design is influenced by the rangers' more modern looks while keeping the original's draconic elements. Furthermore, the signature gold shield chest shown in the series and several Power Ranger video games is subtly merged into the costume to complement rather than overpower everything. Finally, the Green Ranger's Dragon Dagger can also turn into a sword to stand toe-to-toe with other weapons.

Although this interpretation of the Green Ranger is anything but official, another Power Rangers reboot is currently in development so fans could see something similar in the future.
