Potion Permit often requires players to open up paths to new areas by gathering the necessary items and resources from the game world or by completing quests. One such scenario is gaining access to the snowy area in the north of Moonbury, which requires players to, among other things, acquire a letter of recommendation to get their Approval Badge upgraded.

Potion Permit is a casual action adventure game developed by MassHive Media and published by PQube. In the town of Moonbury the Mayor's daughter falls ill, and when the local witch doctor is unable to cure her the Mayor asks for aid from the Medical Association. The player takes on the role of the chemist sent by the Medical Association and, after curing the Mayor's daughter, is asked to stay in the town to provide aid to the townsfolk going forward.

How To Get A Letter Of Recommendation

After dealing with the boulders blocking access to the rest of the meadow range, players are able to explore much more of the wilderness surrounding Moonbury. A winding path north eventually leads to a snowy ridge and a derelict cable car. At this point players are informed that they will need to upgrade their approval badge before they can do anything about the derelict cable car, and are directed to speak with the Mayor. Unfortunately the Mayor cannot upgrade the Approval Badge without a Letter of Recommendation from the Medical Association.

Tracking the quest in the journal is no help at this point, as the members of the Medical Association are not in town and thus can't be visited in order to ask for the Letter of Recommendation. Instead, the Medical Association will visit the player periodically during gameplay, and it is necessary to impress them on one such visit in order to get a Letter of Recommendation.

In order to impress the Medical Association the player will need to resolve two issues in the Meadow Range. In the northern part of the Meadow Range players can find webbing on some flowers. Interacting with this will trigger a quest to fix it. Similarly, a crater/puddle can be found in the southern part of the Meadow Range that will also trigger a quest when interacted with. Once both quests are completed the Medical Association will be more than happy to supply the player with the Letter of Recommendation.

With a Letter of Recommendation the player can get the Mayor to upgrade their Approval Badge, allowing them to start the process of fixing the Cable Car and heading further north.

Potion Permit is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
