With the Resident Evil 4 Remake soon arriving for fans to experience, Capcom has kept new story details under wraps as many fans anticipate unique implementations. While there is no guarantee that there will be any drastic changes to the main plot that most fans are familiar with from the original, the game's new PlayStation listing appears to have teased story changes that may leave veterans surprised.

Despite the original game containing a good and satisfying story, there are multiple story arcs that some fans wished to see expanded along with its characters. As the game's release is on the horizon, there are a plethora of unseen and advanced story plots that could help the Resident Evil 4 Remake eclipse the original title.

5 Leon & Krauser's Relationship

Leon and Krauser

Given the fact that fans are yet to see Krauser in any promotions for the Resident Evil 4 Remake despite Capcom revealing that there is no cut content, this is one many fans will be looking out for. The original title certainly saw both Leon and Krauser facing off against one another multiple times within the game's latter stages, but may have left some fans confused wondering where the pair's relationship stemmed from.

Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles featured both Krauser and Leon setting out together on a mission to uncover the mysteries of the 'T-Virus', but with this title only available on WII and PlayStation 3, not many will be aware of the story. With the Resident Evil 4 Remake, Capcom has the opportunity to use flashbacks or entirely new conversations between the two characters regarding that very mission, which will help reveal more information about their past and bring everything to a full circle.

4 Leon's Recruitment

Leon and the President

One of the more surprising aspects of the initial reveal of the Resident Evil 4 Remake, was a cutscene that appeared for a very short period in the trailer showcasing Leon speaking with Ashley Graham's father the President. The original did not include any of this whatsoever, as most players will be aware of the opening cutscenes containing a recap of the outbreak in Raccoon City, and Leon's journey towards the first house in the Village.

It is yet to be seen how far this new addition will go and whether this will be as long and revealing as most fans expect it will be, but this would be a very necessary implementation to the title. Not only does this have the potential to expand Leon's assignment of saving Ashley, but it can also include the very event that led to her kidnapping and serve as an extension to the overarching story plot.

3 Villagers' Lives Before Las Plagas

Resident Evil 4 Remake

As the original game's credits roll, fans are able to take a look into the lives of the Ganados before Osmund Saddler's takeover. It is clear to see that they lived normal lives, farming, and spreading cheer with songs around their children until it suddenly takes a swift dark turn. After having the parasite forced upon them with its effects taking the lives of the children, it opened up the door to a horrifying and violent set of villagers who were now under control at the hand of Saddler.

Including the story of their downfall and submission to the Las Plagas in the Resident Evil 4 Remake, would add far more weight to the story and reveal how disturbing the story really is ultimately giving Leon more reason to take down all the possessed and above all Saddler.

2 Mother Miranda Lore

Mother Miranda

With Resident Evil Village revealing Mother Miranda's pivotal presence for the entirety of the franchise, it would not be a huge surprise for references for this character to appear in the Resident Evil 4 Remake. While it is unclear whether Capcom plans to connect its remakes with the most recent mainline stories, the connection between Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 5 is already present with both Miranda and Oswell E. Spencer mentioned to have crossed paths.

Despite Miranda being the one to discover the Mold, it does not guarantee any link toward the Las Plagas, but the possibility of Capcom including lore of how other viruses and parasites in the Resident Evil franchise operate, it would not be a stretch to suggest fans may hear of Village's antagonist once again.

1 Leon & Ada

Ada Wong

On the back of Resident Evil 2, it is suggested in the original Resident Evil 4 that Leon was unaware of Ada's survival after the events of the outbreak. It is clear to see throughout Resident Evil 2, that the pair have an emotional and romantic connection toward one another, but this is cut short. In Resident Evil 4, they both cross paths on multiple occasions within the story, along with Ada spotting him in the distance in her 'Separate Ways' DLC.

Since both games have been remade, Capcom would be able to do them justice by maintaining or at the very least hinting at Leon and Ada's last meeting, and finally giving fans more depth and answers to the questions regarding the two of them.

Resident Evil 4 Remake releases on March 24th, on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
