GR Pick [Video]: Portal Kombat!

Portal Kombat Video

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few weeks, you might know a little bit about two certain games, which have not only made waves here on Game Rant, but across the world. Portal 2 and Mortal Kombat have been advertised in so many formats, it's hard to keep count of where, when and in what form you've seen an advert (we're looking at you, Seattle). However, in one instance, a clever YouTube took the two games, and put them in a pot together to form one game: Portal Kombat.

"Portal Kombat" is a blend of the Portal and Mortal Kombat series. The 2:56 video tells a quick little tale about an average Joe, your everyday guy, walking into an everyday shop of used media, to find himself a new game. The video features GLaDOS's s0ng, "Still Alive," which is about the sinister AI from Portal and Portal 2 singing to Chell (the protagonist of the Portal games) about about the upcoming events of Portal 2. The theme from Mortal Kombat is also heard. From way back in 1993 off of the Mortal Kombat Soundtrack, and subsequently featured in the film, "Techno Syndrome" turned into one of those songs that everyone wanted played at their funerals.

The guy is on his way in, in his own world, when two gems catch his eye in the PlayStation 3 games section: Portal 2 and Mortal Kombat. At first, Portal 2 is obviously the winner in his eye, and "Still Alive" begins to play. However, Mortal Kombat grabs his interest as well. His mind can't be made, and the two games are mutually appealing. What happens next is for you to enjoy:

He fuses them, which in this case, is the only logical thing to do. The guy has a new vision, a vision of himself fighting various foes, taking out Scorpion and others with the use of the Portal gun, creating many new types of fatalities, like "gravitality." More fatalities are included, but I won't spoil them for you. At the end of the video, fans of a certain television show will recognize the sad little tune (before the techno reprieve) as the Guy walks out of the store.
