Following the official announcement of Portal 2, details have slowly been trickling in via Game Informer. It has now been a month since Valve unveiled Portal 2 to the world, and here at Game Rant, we've collected together all the pieces of concept art, and gathered them in one place for your enjoyment.

The new artwork shows the ruin that Aperture Science has become, along with some pretty awesome looking foliage and forestry that has now overrun the facility - needless to say, it looks absolutely stunning. This may be concept art, but it's damn fine looking concept art. Have a look:

As you can see from the gallery above, the art looks eerily magnificent, and although it's hard to imagine how portals will work on trees/grassy textures, I have no doubt that Valve will ensure that Portal 2 is an absolutely stellar game. It's interesting to note that Portal was a game that was always clean and scientific (bar the final level), and yet it's immediately apparent that Portal 2 takes a far more adult and dark approach to the Portal universe. One thing I would love to see is a stronger focus on GLADOS's insanity. Approaching the themes of psychosis and derangement in that Valve way would make Portal 2 my game of the year, hands-down.

What do you think of the concept images? Have you spotted anything interesting? Let us know in the comments below.

Portal 2 will be available later this year for PC, Mac and Xbox 360 platforms.
