Drama among Twitch streamers is nothing uncommon, but it usually originates on the streaming platform itself. However, it appears that Pokimane got pulled into an issue with a YouTube content creator.
With so much going on centered around on Twitch, there is a lot of different drama that currently playing out on the streaming platform. Last month, many streamers had sexual misconduct allegations brought against them, even causing OfflineTV, an organization of Twitch streamers that Pokimane is a part of, to remove one of the members from their content house. More recently, the topic of Dr Disrespect's ban has been the main issue the streaming platform has to work around.
Though Pokimane is the center the of Twitter trend, she isn't the one who initiated the drama. This was started by the YouTube content creator Keemstar. He tweeted that Pokimane was a "2/10" and many users have fired back against this notion, stating their displeasure at his statement. Afterward, he retweeted himself, saying that he actually alluding to the female streamer's birthday and got the date wrong, but his responses to replies to the initial Twitter post led many viewers to believe that this was not an innocent mistake. Despite this backlash, Keemstar seems to continue to stand by his opinion, tweeting "Keemstar 10/10" a few hours after the post about Pokimane.
Many on the social media platform have come to the Twitch streamer's aid and are denouncing Keemstar's actions as unnecessary and misogynistic. Other streamers that create content with Pokimane such as Lily "Lilypichu" Ki have also spoken up in support of their friend, who engaged some replies with discussion and pushback on his behavior. Pokimane hasn't directly addressed this situation, but she did retweet someone commenting on the situation who stated that it was difficult to see a community go from supporting anti-bullying efforts after the loss of one of its own to publicly bullying for the drama and clicks.
Pokimane has been the subject of many attacks on social media lately, with many users saying that she is a popular Twitch streamer due to her looks and not her gameplay. However, many fans have continued to support her through this time and show her that they enjoy her for her personality and content.
