Romantic relationships between content creators and their fans can be tricky to navigate, but Pokimane thinks that it's possible given the right circumstances. Although she and many other streamers keep much of their dating lives private, Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys opened up about the possibility of dating a fan during a recent Twitch stream.

Pokimane discussed the idea during a Just Chatting stream by saying that it "depends on the people." She clarified by saying how important the way someone reaches out to a streamer is when building a relationship. Explaining, she says that if someone were to message her out of the blue with anything inappropriate, she's "probably not going to date them."

She continued making the point that if someone were to only date a streamer based on their popularity and online persona instead of who they are, it likely wouldn't work out. For her, it seems like if a potential partner were to know her work, it should not be the sole reason for their attraction. Although Pokimane doesn't often speak publically about her dating life, based on her stream, it seems as if she'd be open to the possibility of dating a fan if the circumstances were right.

To aid Pokimane's point, all one needs to do is to look at PewDiePie's situation with his wife. PewDiePie met his wife Marzia through a mutual connection and the two reportedly shared emails about how Marzia found his videos funny. There are plenty of other examples of streamers and other celebrities entering relationships with fans, but as Pokimane pointed out, it all depends on the people and how they met.

Many streamers try to keep certain aspects of their personal lives private as opening up every aspect of themselves to the internet is sometimes risky business. Recently, Twitch streamer Amouranth's house was attacked in an attempted arson, with the full details of the situation still remaining unknown. As detailed by the all too frequent swatting that happens within many of streaming's most popular figures, it's not the most regulated and safe profession, so many choose to keep their dating lives private as a result.

Pokimane recently voiced her opinion on her fears regarding the demonization of certain Twitch channels as a result of the rising popularity of mature-based content on the platform. While there hasn't been any update on major advertisers leaving the space, it seems as if the issue will need to be dealt with in the coming months.
