As many wannabe Pokemon Masters are well aware, the pair of upcoming and highly anticipated installments in the core franchise, Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, will have an ample amount of new features. One of the major additions to the series is coming in the form of Mega Evolutions — a new ability that some Pokemon have to evolve past their final forms. Mega Mewtwo, Mega Lucario, and Mega Blaziken were all initially confirmed Mega Evolutions of existing monsters, but The Pokemon Company has revealed a few more Mega-Evolved creatures.

During the Pokemon World Championships in Vancouver, British Columbia, attendees were shown a never before seen video which highlighted all three of the previously mentioned Pokemon, as well as three new ones: Mega Ampharos, Mega Absol, and Mega Mawile. The handful of new evolutions are all highlighted in the aforementioned trailer for Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, as well as a number of screenshots, and they appear to be just as powerful as the 'Mega' in front of their name implies.

Game Freak director Junichi Masuda also took to the stage during the tournament's festivities to reveal yet another Mega Evolution for a monster that wasn't featured in the clip.

Kangaskhan is the latest monster confirmed to receive a Mega form, courtesy of a new item that can be found within X and Y's game cartridge. Mega Kangaskhan removes the infant from its pouch and gives it a substantial amount of power, allowing the baby to attack alongside its parent. This new ability is called 'Parental Bond', and it enables the Pokemon to attack twice every turn.

There are still plenty of other Mega Evolutions that have yet to be revealed, but The Pokemon Company has been pulling the curtain off of these unique evolutions at a pretty steady rate. Many fans are holding out for news of a new form for their favorite Pokes, and Game Freak will likely address those hopes very soon. In the meantime, stay tuned to Game Rant for more info on additional Mega Evolutions and any other news pertaining to Pokemon X and Y.
