The world of Pokemon is full of colorful and wild creatures battling on behalf of their trainers and for the entertainment of millions around the world. Professional wrestling is not much different, with larger than life personalities going toe-to-toe in a wrestling ring to settle personal scores, win gold, and entertain crowds the world over. Picking up on these similarities, a Pokemon player has given their take on which of these creatures best match up to the five of the biggest stars from WWE's Attitude Era.

Widely regarded as a golden era for professional wrestling, the Attitude Era was a key part in the pro wrestling boom of the late 90s along with the rise of WCW Monday Nitro and the Monday Night Wars. WWE, in particular, saw the rise of many stars still beloved by wrestling fans to this day, including Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock.

Reddit user Tophtootough focused on these two stars, along with The Undertaker, Kane, and Triple H, when finding Pokemon counterparts befitting these wrestlers. That said, Tophtootough doesn't hesitate to go more literal with some their choices.

The Rock's counterpart being Tauros, some Pokemon players can argue, is the most obvious choice for the younger Dwayne Johnson. At the height of his popularity, The Rock was often referred to as the Brahma Bull thanks, in part, to his stylized tattoo which found its way onto his gear and merchandise. Tauros is the most recognizable bull-style Pokemon so it would make sense for Tophtootough to go this route.

However, a stranger choice may be the suggested counterpart for Stone Cold Steve Austin, and that is Galarian Darmanitan. The choice is clearly in reference to Austin's "Stone Cold" moniker as Galarian Darmanitan is an ice-type Pokemon. Triple H and Kane's counterparts can also be seen as fitting, with Tophtootough going with Conkeldurr and Incineroar, respectively.

Some players and wrestling fans may argue, though, the oddest choice here is The Undertaker's counterpart being Mismagius. On paper, it makes sense as a counterpart given Mismagius is a ghost-type Pokemon along with its round head resembling a hat akin to what The Undertaker wore to the ring. On the other hand, Mismagius is a relatively short Pokemon, barely reaching 3-feet-tall, while Undertaker stands at 7-feet-tall and easily overpowered opponents, which some could argue makes Gengar a better choice.

Regardless of the choices here, it is a topic Pokemon and wrestling fans can spend days debating given the sheer number of Pokemon and wrestling stars there are to choose from. Other the Attitude Era stars Tophtootough could have chosen include names like Mick Foley, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, Chyna, Sable, Lita, the Dudley Boyz, and the boss himself, Mr. McMahon. Whether or not Tophtootough, or anyone else of social media, decides to take it upon themselves to do so remains to be seen.
