Pokemon themed clothing is having something of a resurgence in 2020 between stylish sneakers and surprisingly expensive Pikachu hats. As the brand expands more into the ritzier side of attire, it seems the next step is for jewelry that really nails the "I Choose You" mantra.
Japanese jewelry company U-Treasure is hopping on the trend of designer Pokemon gear by selling rings that make a statement beyond just a person's love of Pokemon. U-Treasure has announced Pokemon-themed engagement rings that feature Eevee, the counterpart starter to Pikachu in the Pokemon Let's Go games for the Nintendo Switch.
The metal rings are much more tasteful than what a knee-jerk reaction would envision with Pokemon-themed jewelry. Purchase options are between a set of three rings that all feature Eevee, the Pokemon with the most possible evolutions. The main attraction of the package is the slot diamond engagement ring which has two model Eevees holding the aforementioned gem. The other two are the wedding rings that will feature small indents of Eevee with the same off color style of the engagement rings.
While a Pokeball ring holder accessory is available for purchase, those wishing to make a real statement should buy the rings this month. Purchases until September 29 will give buyers a Master Ball ring case to make going down on one knee a 100 percent success rate. Although those thinking of jumping in on the charming Eevee rings may want to check the price tags first because it's still going to be pricey. Considering the current and expensive output of Pokemon merchandise, it is likely because it has an Eevee that it goes up in price.
The engagement rings come in six varieties of color with the cheapest being the Silver and Pink gold ring priced at ¥66,000 yen or $620 as of writing. The most expensive set is the platinum ring with pink gold Eevees, which comes in at a whopping ¥125,400 which translates to over $1100,00. While that platinum ring is expensive, it is still cheaper than the RTX 3090 which was revealed this week. The actual wedding rings follow the same pricing differences.
While U-Treasure does have international shipping on select items, these Eevee rings are likely limited to Japan as the previous Pikachu and Mew versions were. That doesn't mean there are not numerous buying options for those looking for expensive Pokemon attire. Those looking for some new kicks can always buy the Adidas x Pokemon crossover sneakers. Unfortunately for the Pokemanics currently in love and ready to pop the question, an alternative method is required.
