Over the years, the Pokemon series has introduced a number of iconic pocket monsters that fans have grown to love. With close to 900 Pokemon featured in the series, many have become popular with fans. However, one of the most famous is Pikachu.
As one of the first Pokemon introduced to the series, Pikachu is part of the original Gen 1 Pokedex. It is an Electric-type Pokemon with an appropriately yellow-colored body and lighting bolt-shaped tail. Due to this iconic appearance, Pikachu has become one of the most recognizable Pokemon in the entire franchise. Recently, one fan decided to give this classic Pokemon a new look based on one of Marvel’s notable anti-heroes known as Venom.
Taking to Reddit, a user known as scarzyone1 shared a picture of some unique Pokemon art they had created. Specifically, this rendered artwork showed the popular Pikachu with a new design twist; it featured a Venom-themed appearance. In the image, the artist managed to include three different poses of the Pokemon, each sporting the menacing features of the Marvel symbiote. For example, the design contained the inky black coloration of Venom, along with a large number of sharp teeth and an extremely long tongue. In addition, it had the spider-like symbol for the anti-hero across its midsection.

Unsurprisingly, a number of members of the Pokemon community on Reddit have checked out this unusual crossover art featuring characters from Pokemon and Marvel. Since scrazyone1 posted the image, many fans have upvoted the design along with commenting on the various aspect of the piece. Among the comments, one gamer attempted to come up with a name for this new Venom version of the Pokemon. “Pikanom? Venachu?” Munnin41 said on Reddit.
Interestingly, this is not the only Venom-inspired artwork created by scrazyone1. They have created Venom versions of Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle for those wanting to see more. In addition, the artist has shared an image on Reddit of Water and Fire versions of Bulbasaur. Each of these designs featured a similar amount of detail as that seen in the Pikachu piece.
It will be interesting to see what scrazyone1 decides to design next on Reddit. However, they are far from the only talented gamers making fan art. Over the past couple of weeks, many other fans have been making impressive creations based on the Pokemon series. For instance, one gamer recently made artwork that gave Saffron City Gym Leader Sabrina and her Alakazam a new look. Time will tell what artwork is created next by passionate fans. However, if it is anything like this Venom version of Pikachu made by scrazyone1, it is likely to impress.
