Pokemon Unite has received a major update to coincide with its Mobile release, bringing UI changes, character balances, Unite Squads, new Held Items, and Super Item Enhancers. These upgraded versions of Item Enhancers bring any Held Item to maximum Level 30 and refund any regular Enhancers spent on the item.
Trainers who log in to Pokemon Unite can receive 3 of these incredible items completely for free. This applies to those playing on both Mobile and Switch. There is no time limit on claiming the Super Item Enhancers, but there is a Trainer Level requirement to claiming each one.
How to Get Super Item Enhancers in Pokemon Unite
There may be other ways to obtain the useful items in the MOBA's future, but for now, only 3 Super Item Enhancers can be claimed from the Events sub-menu. The UI looks a little different than before the update, and players can now find the Events menu by clicking on the trainer portrait located at the top-left corner of the screen (ZL on Switch). Events is located under the Pokemon Unite Battle Items menu.
Navigate to Events, and then scroll down to "Super Held Item Enhancement Missions." Trainers can unlock each Super Enhancer in this menu by reaching Trainer Level 10, 12, and 14. Once the required level is reached, head back to this menu and click "Claim."
How to Use Super Item Enhancers in Pokemon Unite
Once the free items have been claimed from the Event menu, click on the trainer portrait again and choose "Item Box." From here, navigate to the "Consumable Items" tab and trainers can now use their Super Item Enhancers on whatever Held Item they like.
It usually costs thousands of regular Enhancers to upgrade Pokemon Unite Held Items to max level, so being able to instantly do it for free is a huge improvement to the system. It might change the pay-to-win narrative surrounding the game, but it remains to be seen if developer TiMi Studios keeps these as Event-exclusive offerings, or puts them in the store for purchase.
Trainers wondering what the best Held Items in Pokemon Unite to upgrade should at least consider the Buddy Barrier. It's a fantastic way to shield the player and an ally Pokemon while using a Unite Move, and upgrading it to Level 30 can be the difference between winning and losing matches consistently. However, players should note that 3 new Held Items have been added with the update, so they could become top picks for upgrading to max level as well.
Don't forget to claim the free Pokemon Unite Pikachu and Holowear from the events menu while grabbing the Super Item Enhancers. This must be done on Mobile, but the content will crossover when logging in to the same account on Switch.
