Halloween itself may have ended over a week ago, but Pokemon Unite’s Halloween themed event has been ongoing until very recently. As of right now, Pokemon Unite’s second season has already kicked off. Although, for some reason, rather than it be winter or Christmas themed, developer TiMi and The Pokemon Company have gone with a summer theme, with the season’s official name being Sun, Sun, Sunshine.

The new season means a new Battle Pass with 90 levels of content for players to unlock. The full list of rewards includes more of what fans would expect, namely Aeos Tickets with which to buy cosmetics for Trainers, and item enhancers, which can upgrade held items.

Although these are the Battle Pass’ free rewards. Just like with previous ones, players who want more substantial rewards will need to pay for the premium pass. Doing so will mean players can unlock specific Trainer cosmetics as well as new Holowear for select Pokemon. The announcement trailer reveals a Sunshine Style outfit for Venusaur and an Adept Style outfit for Charizard, with the former unlockable at rank 60 and the latter unlockable at rank 1. This also happens to bring Charizard’s total number of available Holowear up to 5, putting it in a three-way tie for the most Holowear with Pikachu and Eldegoss.

Some Pokemon like Mamoswine and Greedent are still lacking any Holowear whatsoever, but that could always change as the season goes on. One piece of Holowear the trailer makes no mention of is a Palace Style outfit for Crustle, which sees its shell replaced with the building that the Unova Pokemon League from Pokemon Black & White is held in. Considering Season 1 featured two separate Battle Passes, with the second covering Halloween, there will likely be another Battle Pass later on that will include more seasonal related content.

There will presumably be another playable Pokemon added to the roster as well this season. The official Pokemon Unite Twitter account has already teased the inclusion of Grass/Ghost type Decidueye, but exact details about it, like its playstyle and release date, are completely unknown.

Pokemon Unite is a MOBA similar to titles like League of Legends and Dota 2, releasing this past summer for Nintendo Switch and eventually arriving on mobile devices. Despite becoming popular almost immediately at launch, it has faced criticism for implementing mechanics many deem to be pay-to-win and offering cosmetics at exorbitantly high prices.

Pokemon Unite is available for Android, iOS, and Nintendo Switch.
