With the upcoming release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Pokemon Unite has confirmed that it's crossing over with Gen 9 ahead of its release. As The Pokemon Company works with Nintendo to launch the next Pokemon generation, TiMi Studio Group finds ways to bridge the gap between the mainline games and Pokemon Unite with this creative Pokemon Scarlet and Violet crossover.The well-known Pokemon website Serebii has confirmed that Pokemon Unite is getting a Pokemon Scarlet and Violet crossover that will give players unique Gen 9 outfits if they log into the MOBA around launch. As Pokemon Unite is updated to feature more Pokemon such as Dodrio, Zoroark, Clefairy, and more, the potential team compositions and gameplay styles begin to reflect advanced MOBA's like Smite. Outside of patches that add new Pokemon alongside balancing and other fixes, Pokemon Unite also offers a seasonal battle pass, with battle pass 11 focusing on Delphox.Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will release on November 18, and Pokemon Unite players that log into the MOBA on the same day with a save file from the mainline release will receive backgrounds, frames, and in-game stickers based on the Gen 9 starter Pokemon. While these items will be available until February 1, 2023, the new outfits won't drop until December 1, which may give some players more time to acquire a Gen 9 game. The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet outfits will also remain available for Pokemon Unite fans to claim until February, though it's currently unclear if the clothing color is locked to the version of the Gen 9 game.
The two potential outfits that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fans can choose between reflect the colors of the two games, one being red and the other fittingly being purple. These outfits which appear to be Pokemon Scarlet and Violet academy uniforms swap primary colors for their shoes to show a hint of red on the Pokemon Violet trainer and some purple on the Scarlet trainer.
Because the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainer attends an academy, their outfits reflect that and multiple MOBA players quickly noted how strange the clothes will look on the much older Pokemon Unite trainer. As many Pokemon Unite fans voiced their support for the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet crossover, some mobile players lamented that the main Pokemon titles are exclusive to Nintendo Switch.
