Pokemon Unite has just surpassed an impressive milestone. The free-to-play title is the first foray into the popular MOBA genre for the Pokemon series, and thus far it appears to be a success. There is a lot to love about Pokemon Unite, and now the latest thing to relish is that players will soon receive free Aeos Tickets as a celebration for the game being downloaded by millions of players.

When Pokemon Unite was first announced there were some who wondered about the IP dipping its toes into the MOBA realm. But a triumphant first half of season 1 of Pokemon Unite will come to an end on September 22, which is the same day that the game will be released on mobile devices. The achievement so far has been completely thanks to the Nintendo Switch player base.

Pokemon Unite has been downloaded over nine million times since launching on July 21 for the Nintendo Switch. That is an extraordinary amount in less than two months. One thing that likely helped the game receive a big following is the free-to-play nature of Pokemon Unite, which is a rare barrier of entry for the series on console.

To commemorate the occasion, all Trainers will receive 2,000 Aeos Tickets starting on September 29. Aeos Tickets are one of the currencies in Pokemon Unite, along with the likes of Aeos Coins, Fashion Tickets, and Holowear Tickets. It certainly is exciting to receive the free currency for being a part of the group that helped Pokemon Unite get off to a successful start.

Aeos Tickets are used for quite a few different things in Pokemon Unite. Players will be able to use them to purchase clothes for the Trainer in the Aeos Emporium, as well as Item Enhancers and other products. Players can gain Aeos Tickets by logging in daily, leveling up, via Battle Pass rewards, and more. Of course, the 2,000 free Aeos Tickets is a not-too-shabby way to receive the currency as well.

It will be interesting to see Pokemon Unite continue to evolve moving forward. Even though the Nintendo Switch has been remarkably successful and now has sold around 90 million units, Pokemon Unite's release on mobile will allow countless players the chance to enjoy it. The around 10% attachment rate for Switch users that gave Pokemon Unite the old college try is great, but nothing compares to the near-endless opportunity that a mobile platform provides.

Pokemon Unite is available now on Nintendo Switch and releases September 22 for mobile devices.
