Lucario has always been a popular All-Rounder choice in Pokemon Unite, but a new bug discovered after the latest patch has made one of Lucario's Special Moves a one-shot kill. It's being exploited by many during Ranked gameplay, destroying enemy teams with a few button presses.

The MOBA title is no stranger to serious bugs with certain characters, like the recent Blastoise Pokemon Unite glitch that also ruined Ranked matches. Climbing the ranks is the only way to receive large amounts of Aeos Tickets at the end of a season, which is why exploits with characters like Blastoise and Lucario are such a big deal.

The Lucario bug in Pokemon Unite was pointed out by Redditor xumei, and it takes advantage of the Extreme Speed Special Move. When another button is used at the same time, it triggers the bug, which causes a lot of damage to enemy players. Making the glitch even more devastating is Extreme Speed's ability to recharge instantly if it hits a different Pokemon with each use. This means entire squads can be annihilated in mere moments. Add to this the ease of accidentally activating the bug, meaning those unaware of the exploit can still use it regularly, and this is understandably frustrating for those playing competitively in Ranked.

Unlike the Crustle Unite Move glitch that developer TiMi Studios has reassured fans will be fixed in the next update, there has been no indication that the developer even knows about the Lucario bug, let alone when it will be patched. As such, players trying to climb the Pokemon Unite Ranks are being forced to stop playing until the issue is fixed. While they can take their chances, it comes with an increased risk of dropping Rank when playing against somebody exploiting the glitch, accidentally or not.

Some fans have been criticizing TiMi Studios for not removing Lucario and Crustle from Ranked matches while they are clearly bugged, pointing out that this practice is common in other MOBA titles like Smite. The extended wait-time for patches of known bugs and the frequent occurrence of serious glitches is causing a lot of frustration within the community. A lack of communication from the MOBA's developers has been criticized since the first undetailed patch notes for the game, and issues like the Pokemon Unite Lucario bug spotlights this problem again.

However, TiMi Studios has been making an effort more recently to try and address community concerns quicker. The studio also seems to have listened to the Pokemon Unite pay-to-win criticisms, promising in a recent blog post to level the playing field with a new mode that doesn't rely on upgradable Held Items. This indicates that bugged characters could possibly be removed from Ranked matches if fans request it enough. For now, however, players will still have to contend with broken characters.

Pokemon Unite is available now on Mobile and Nintendo Switch.
