As with a lot of free-to-play titles, Pokemon Unite has a lot of currency systems. Some buy Pokemon Licences, others upgrade held items, and Energy is spent at the Energy Rewards menu for the chance of acquiring other currency, clothing, Holowear Tickets, and more. Some rewards are harder to get than others, though, and there are percentage rates that determine what chance a player has of getting a specific reward.
To unlock Energy Rewards, players must first reach Rank 5. After this, a maximum of 1400 energy can be spent every week, but Extra-Energy Tanks can be bought to continue rolling for rewards. Energy is unlocked by playing Pokemon Unite matches, and the amount gained from each match can be increased by using an Energy Boost Tank.
All Energy Rewards and their rates
There are 35 possible rewards available from spending 100 energy in Pokemon Unite. A cap of 1400 means that any player not wanting to spend money on the game will get 14 chances of rolling for the item they want a week. There are no Pokemon Licences currently available as a reward.

If Talonflame mains want to style their Pokemon in the Pilot Holowear, they will either have to have a lot of luck on their side, or a lot of money. The cosmetic is only available in Energy Rewards, or for purchase from Zirco Trading for 88 Holowear Tickets. The Energy system is fun to cash-in on rewards gained from participating in battles players would be doing anyway, but its lootbox-like qualities have some wondering if Pokemon Unite is more of a pay-to-win game than a free-to-play title.
Regardless, the miHoYo developed title has been a hit on Twitch with impressive launch day viewership numbers. Time will tell whether this MOBA can live up to the popularity of Pokemon GO, or becomes another Pokemon title with wasted potential.
