The tutorial in Pokemon Unite do a pretty good job of explaining how to play the game for the most part, but it doesn't cover everything that players need to know. To help with this, the Beginner Challenge tasks players with doing things they might not otherwise have known about, such as defeating Drednaw or changing their battle item from a potion to something else. On the final day (day 7) of the challenge, players have to "block one goal," but the game never explains what this means or how to do it. Thankfully, it's about as simple as it sounds, so players don't need to fret too much about it.
Unlike many other MOBA games, Pokemon Unite tasks players with destroying enemy goal zones by scoring goals on them rather than attacking turrets or something similar. Scoring 100 points on an enemy goal zone will cause it to break, allowing the player's team to push further down the lane. Likewise, the player needs to protect their own goal zone, and this is where blocking a goal comes in.
To block a goal in Pokemon Unite, players need to interrupt an enemy while they attempt to score on the player's goal zone. As players likely already know from firsthand experience, scoring a goal takes time. The more points the player has stored up, the longer it takes to charge up and score a goal. If the player is hit from any source, whether it be wild Pokemon, an enemy attack, or even lingering status effects like poison, the goal will be interrupted and the player will have to start over again. This is a lot easier to do with ranged Pokemon, so players should use a Pokemon they can get for free in Pokemon Unite like Venusaur.
The best way to accomplish this is to keep an eye on which enemies have a lot of points, a good habit to get into for players wanting to succeed at Pokemon Unite. On the mini map, any player with a high amount of points will show up with their number of points displayed beneath their character. Follow this player until they reach a goal, as it should take them a long time to charge up the actual score. All players need to do is hit with one attack during this time and the challenge will be completed.
It's important to keep in mind that it is almost impossible to block a goal after Zapdos has been defeated by the enemy or Rotom makes it to that goal post, as these cause the goals to become defenseless and allow enemies to score on them instantly regardless of how many points they have. If possible, use a ranged character, hide out in the tall grass near the goal zone, and then surprise attack the enemy when they try to make a goal. This will also help the team considerably if the enemy has a lot of points.
