Charizard, taking the role of an All-Rounder, who is further classified as a melee attacker despite mostly using moves traditionally known to be Special Attacks, can be a powerful force on the battlefield of this MOBA game.
Their Fire-type attacks can burn foes as well as deal great base damage, making Charizard one of the more offensively geared All-Rounders in Pokemon Unite. How To Use The Charizard Ranged Attack Build Effectively
With great reach, the moves of this build can punish foes from afar in two ways: dealing direct damage to them as well as burning them. The burns applied by Charizard's moves will cause afflicted foes to take damage over time for a few seconds as well as boosting Charizard's movement speed slightly. How To Use The Charizard Melee Attack Build Effectively
This build will require players to get up close and personal with foes, like a true melee attacker, so be sure to consider options for when one is low on HP. Leftovers can be greatly helpful for longevity and the Eject Button is always useful for quick escapes, so definitely consider putting those on this build.
Charizard can use Fire Punch to deal damage to targets while also pushing them back a decent distance. This is great for spacing maneuvers, such as denying enemies entry to important areas. The simple usage of this attack means that newer players should have an easy time making use of this aggressive dash-type move.
The other move on this build, Flare Blitz, does something similar, though with a few more features. Initially, Charizard will surround its body in flames before rushing targets in the designated area. When colliding, players will impart solid amounts of damage while also equipping Charizard with a temporary shield. After being upgraded, Flare Blitz will also debuff the movement speed of stricken foes. As this move does quite a lot, players will want to capitalize on each effect, which can be done fairly easily by simply aiming Flare Blitz to throw enemies into the hazards set by allies.
Players using this build should try to be on the frontlines to constantly apply pressure to the opponents, however, be sure not to overextend, as granting the enemies easy knockouts and XP will harm one's chances at victory. It's best to stick with an ally when playing as a melee Charizard build, as this will allow for enough back-up to take out singular foes more easily due to its decent DPS.
General Tips On Using Charizard
Charizard's Unite Move - Seismic Slam
Arguably one of the most intricate Unite Moves in the game, Seismic Slam has multiple phases and effects. When first used, Charizard will enter a flying mode where they can soar over obstacles, however, they can still be targeted and hurt by regular enemy attacks. Though, this won't be much of an issue against two or fewer foes, as the basic attacks Charizard can unleash will burn targets as well as heal the user, essentially letting players heal-boost through incoming damage while flying around.
If players use Seismic Slam again, Charizard will pick up the closest opposing trainer pokemon and fly into the air with them before coming back down and slamming them savagely into the ground. This attack portion takes a little while to perform, which means it can lock down a single threat for a few seconds as well as greatly hurting them.
Charizard's Ability - Blaze
This ability, named after the one Charizard has in the main series of Pokemon games, acts a bit differently than usual. Instead of increasing Charizard's Attack and Special Attack stats when they are low on HP, Blaze in Pokemon Unite increases Charizard's critical hit chance when they are at 50% HP or below.
This can be paired with certain held items that also affect the critical hit ratio of one's basic attack and moves. While a critical hit-themed build with Charizard isn't viable by itself, more chances at landing critical hits can only be a good thing. Especially since a lot of Charizard's fiery attacks deal a series of low-damage hits, which each can become a critical hit, meaning there are more chances for attacks of higher damage to occur.
