It’s an exciting time to be a Pokemon fan, as the latest Nintendo Direct reveals more exciting details about the upcoming Pokemon Ultra Sun and Pokemon Ultra Moon. The new trailer for the game covers everything from details of the alternate story to the unveiling of brand-new Ultra Beasts that will be making their first appearance in-game.

The Ultra Beast that will be shaping the story in a big way is Necrozma, which first appeared in the original Sun and Moon games. In Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, the powerful Ultra Beast will be taking on two new forms as it merges with the legendary Pokemon Solgaleo and Lunala to become Dusk Mane Necrozma or Dawn Wing Necrozma respectively.

Two other new Ultra Beasts, codenamed UB Burst (Pokemon Ultra Sun) and UB Assembly (Pokemon Ultra Moon) will be present in the games, though it’s unclear as to whether they will be a part of the story or simply an additional challenge during the endgame like the Ultra Beasts were in Sun and Moon. The trailer didn’t reveal any further details about the new beasts, but UB Burst has a unique attack animation which might suggest that it can use a signature move.

The upcoming games will also boast new map areas and experiences that were not in the original Sun and Moon experience. Players will can also customize their trainers with stylish new outfits including a Pikachu hat and shirt which is sure to add a little more of a personal touch to the Pokemon experience.

As a bonus for purchasing early, Nintendo will be giving Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon players who pick up their copies by January 10th a very special Rockruff that can evolve into Dusk Form Lycanroc. The unique wolf Pokemon will also have its own special attack that the other forms of Lycanroc cannot use.

What’s more, players who pre-order a digital version of the games will be given twelve additional Quick Balls in-game, and those who pick up a copy of the Virtual Console’s Pokemon Silver or Pokemon Gold will also gain access to the mythical Celebi. The time-travelling Pokemon and star of the movie ‘Pokemon 4 Ever‘ will appear as a reward in copies of any Sun or Moon game, including Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.

Pokemon Ultra Sun and Pokemon Ultra Moon release on November 17, 2017 exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS.
