ShinyShadowGligar posted on the r/pokemon subreddit asking fans of the Pokemon TGC what their strangest card trade was. The question was spurred by ShinyShadowGligar's own strange trade story that came from their six-year-old daughter. Instead of ShinyShadowGligar's daughter opting to trade her cards for another's, her neighbor had a much more enticing offer for the young trainer. By trading a few of her cards, one of which was rare Mega Pidgeot, she received her own real Pidgeot in the form of a parakeet.

ShinyShadowGligar decided to share the cute little story on Reddit which generated over 600 comments and sits at a 96 percent upvote. The trade was approved by the neighbor's mother and ShinyShadowGligar's daughter decided that her new companion would be named "Pidgeot." The heartwarming nature of the story struck a chord with fellow Pokemon fans who showed immense love for the post. ShinyShadowGligar  was taken aback by the flood of support from the comments, which spurred them to upload some photos of Pidgeot due to the overwhelming demand by users. The little parakeet is definitely a charmer and seems well worth the trade in Pokemon cards.

This little story about a wholesome Pokemon trade likely had a big impact due to its human interest factor when talking about Pokemon cards. The Pokemon trading card scene has made headlines around the world throughout 2020 and the stories about the Pokemon TGC market won't stop. The renewed fanfare in Pokemon cards has impacted collectors, celebrities and fans in many ways. The demand is so wild for Pokemon cards that scalpers are selling McDonalds Happy Meal exclusive cards as stocks are running out.

As far as recent Pokemon card stories go, this recent Reddit one has definitely provided a smile to many Pokemon fans. It reminds a lot of players about their childhood with the Pokemon franchise and how many kids today are still invested in a series that has spanned generations of gaming platforms. The feelings of nostalgia and sentimentality when it comes to Pokemon are bolstered by the franchise celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
