While the TCG version of Pokemon Sword and Shield was released in December of last year, the newest update to the set just dropped this month. TCG Pokemon Sword and Shield Rebel Clash is available now both online and in paper.

Originally released in 1996, the Pokemon TCG went online in 2011. The Pokemon Center has released more than 40 expansions for the Pokemon TCG and plenty of block releases like Rebel Clash over the years. The newest sets revolve around the massively popular Sword and Shield Pokemon games, which was released for the Nintendo Switch in November 2019.

Rebel Clash is available in booster packs and boxes as usual, but is also available in theme decks, Elite Trainer boxes, and even special collections. Rebel Clash features 16 V version Pokemon cards, 7 VMAX Pokemon, and 14 special full-arts. There are at least 15 trainer cards, 4 full-art Supporter cards, 4 Special Energy Cards, and features Pokemon in their Gigantamax forms, like the Gigantamax Toxtricity.

Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield were some of the most downloaded video games on the Switch in 2019, so it's not a surprise that the TCG is making as much of their popularity as possible. These new cards are a fantastic showcase of the Gigantamax versions of these Pokemon, which is awesome considering how popular they are in the Sword and Shield video games.

The Pokemon Sword and Shield TCG sets will continue, too. The Darkness Ablaze set will be available in August 2020 as long as the COVID-19 pandemic does not delay it.

Pokemon TCG Online is available for Android, web browsers, Macintosh operating systems, iOS, and Microsoft Windows.
