Pokemon Sword and Shield is getting some love this year thanks to Pokemon's 25th anniversary celebration. While the new content isn't anything on par with Sword and Shield's previous expansion DLCs, the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra expansion set, the two Switch titles are still offering up new, special Pokemon for players to collect.

Right now, Game Freak and The Pokemon Company are offering up a limited time Pikachu that knows the move Sing, which it can't normally learn. Players can redeem this Pikachu from the Mystery Gift menu in Pokemon Sword and Shield from today until March 25, 2021, so interested players should grab it as soon as possible.

This special singing Pikachu is easy for Sword and Shield players to redeem. All players need to do is launch Pokemon Sword and Shield on their Switch, select Mystery Gift from the X menu, select Get with Code/Password, and then connect to the internet. Players then need to enter the following password: P25MUS1C. This code will give players their special Pikachu Mystery Gift, which will either get sent to a player's PC Box or to their party if they have enough room for it.

This special Pikachu's main draw is the fact that it knows the move Sing, which Pikachu can't normally learn through standard gameplay. Additionally, this Pikachu is already level 25, comes in a Cherish Ball, and has the Lightning Rod ability. This Pikachu's full move set is Sing, Encore, Celebrate, and Electro Ball and it also comes holding a Light Ball. Naturally, this singing Pikachu's full move set is a cute nod to the celebrations surrounding Pokemon's 25th anniversary, with moves like Encore and Celebrate added more to commemorate the event rather than use in battle.

While it's pretty likely that Pokemon Sword and Shield are just going to get some fun in-game events and Pokemon to celebrate the 25th anniversary, there are some bigger rumors swirling around the Pokemon community that have fans very excited and nervous at the same time. The biggest rumor involves the much anticipated Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes that have been rumored to be in develop for quite some time now. Fans are expecting to hear some announcement involving those remakes before February ends, though many are also nervous about the potential directions those remakes could go in.

Now, it seems there's a good chance that the Diamond and Pearl remakes could actually debut tomorrow, considering Pokemon is holding an online presentation at 7 am PDT. While nothing is confirmed yet, many of the rumors surrounding the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes said that the games would be revealed in February, so there's a decent chance they will make an appearance at the presentation tomorrow. Of course, these are still rumors at the end of the day, so fans should absolutely keep their expectations in check. Regardless, Pokemon fans can still look forward to nabbing their own singing Pikachu in Pokemon Sword and Shield before the presentation debuts tomorrow.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are available now on Nintendo Switch.
