Pokemon Sword and Shield collectors have something to celebrate as another shiny Pokemon is being given away for free. This time it is the Mushroom Pokemon, Amoonguss. First announced as only a Korea giveaway, shiny Amoonguss can be obtained worldwide via the Mystery Gift feature in Sword and Shield. Players only have until 14:59 UTC on August 10 to input the code and redeem this white and blue mushroom.

Sword and Shield have been plentiful with shinies, from Zeraora to the new legendary Zarude. The game itself allows players more chances at shinies with the inclusion of the Shiny Charm and the new battle count, allowing fans even more chances to get a shiny. The games recently even saw the addition of shiny Wailord to Max Raid battles. Luckily for players, this shiny Amoonguss won’t even require a raid to obtain.

To claim this shiny Pokemon, players need to go to Mystery Gift menu in either game. This can be found by pausing the game and selecting "Mystery Gift." Clicking “Get with Code/Password” will take the player to the input screen. All a Mystery Gift requires is a code, and this one can be obtained by inputting the "TRA1NERSCUP" code.

This Grass and Poison type Pokemon is known for its Effect Spore ability, which can Paralyze or Poison enemies on contact. The Mystery Gift allows players to enjoy this shiny Pokemon without needing to go hunting for it. This Pokemon is a copy of one used in competition, and it comes at level 50 with the moves Clear Smog, Spore, Protect, and Rage Powder. This move-set makes it a perfect addition to most competitive teams, or even just a casual player.

Amoonguss isn’t the only reward that players have been able to claim from Mystery Gift. At the end of June, trainers who competed in the Isle of Armor competition were able to obtain 50 Battle Points for their efforts. These were very useful in helping players change the stats of their Pokemon.

This shiny giveaway is just another example of how much there is in Sword and Shield for players to keep returning to the game. While most players are typically done with everything in a Pokemon game almost a year later, this one is still bringing more and more content. With the upcoming Sword and Shield Crown Tundra expansion as well, it seems that these games offer plenty to keep trainers entertained until the next game releases.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are available now on Switch.
