Ever since the beginning of the Pokemon franchise in 1996, fans of the series showed their love for the video game franchise by cosplaying its most iconic characters. Now, one cosplayer just unveiled her tribute to Pokemon Sword and Shield's Nessa, who is the gym leader of Hulbury's Gym in the Galar region.

In a photo uploaded on Reddit, cosplayer Akasha is seen posing similar to the fan-favorite gym leader Nessa while donning her iconic blue outfit. Additionally, Akasha took her tribute to a whole new level by recreating Nessa's ocean blue hair, complete with gentle aqua streaks that have been popularized by the gym leader.

As of the photo's posting, Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield fans have poured their approval of Akasha's version of the now-iconic gym leader. One fan pointed out the level of detail that went into recreating Nessa's outfit, while another applauded the cosplayer for her faithful recreation of the character's hairstyle.

It is worth remembering that this is not the first time a fan cosplayed Nessa from Pokemon Sword and Shield. Several months ago, former WWE star Zelina Vega revealed her version of the character by posting a short video on Twitter. After Vega got her hands on the Pokemon Sword and Shield Isle of Armor expansion that was just released that time, the former WWE star revealed that she found a way to celebrate her fondness of the game by cosplaying the gym leader Nessa.

The video starts with the camera zoomed in on gameplay footage of Isle of Armor's new location before it pulled back from the Switch to reveal Vega's version of Nessa's look. Similar to Akasha's cosplay of the character, Vega has successfully recreated Nessa's iconic outfit, complete with her hairstyle just without the iconic aqua blue streaks. It is worth noting that Vega is no stranger to cosplaying video game characters as she has recreated Sindel of Mortal Kombat in the past.

Meanwhile, Pokemon Sword and Shield fans are now wondering what's in store for the games in 2021. Although the two DLC expansions released this year gave players plenty to do in the game after finishing the main campaign, some wonder whether Nintendo will introduce more content expansions in the coming year. Unfortunately, Nintendo still hasn't revealed any plans regarding future DLCs for Pokemon Sword and Shield. However, if Nintendo will host a huge Direct presentation to open 2021, the company may make some sort of an announcement regarding the future of Pokemon Sword and Shield, similar to the Pokemon-centered Direct presentation that it unveiled at the beginning of 2020.

Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield are available now for Nintendo Switch.
